Abstract: A system method for detecting taillight signals of a vehicle using a convolutional neural network is disclosed. A particular embodiment includes: receiving a plurality of images from one or more image-generating devices; generating a frame for each of the plurality of images; generating a ground truth, wherein the ground truth includes a labeled image with one of the following taillight status conditions for a right or left taillight signal of the vehicle: (1) an invisible right or left taillight signal, (2) a visible but not illuminated right or left taillight signal, and (3) a visible and illuminated right or left taillight signal; creating a first dataset including the labeled images corresponding to the plurality of images, the labeled images including one or more of the taillight status conditions of the right or left taillight signal; and creating a second dataset including at least one pair of portions of the plurality of images, wherein the at least one pair of portions of the plurality of the images are in temporal succession.

Abstract: A vibration and noise damper for wheels of rail vehicles, to which wheels it is fastened with screws, pins, or rivets, which comprises of at least two segments formed by a supporting part (2) for gripping to the wheel (1), a pushing part (3) and a damping part (4), where the pushing part (3) is connected by means of bolts (9) with the supporting part (2) and is formed either by a single metal or composite element, or it is directly integral part of the damping part (4) and where the damping part (4) is formed in the direction away from the wheel (1) rim of a strain pliable metal or composite layer (4a), of a viscoelastic layer (4b), and possibly of other metal or composite layer (4c), wherein in compressed state the damping part (4) is placed between the pushing part (3) and the wheel (1) rim. Preferably, the supporting part (2) is formed of metal or composite material. Also preferable is the embodiment when thermally insulating pads (5) are arranged between the supporting part (2) and the wheel (1) and/or between the fastening material for attaching the supporting part (2) to the wheel (1) and the wheel (1). The viscoelastic layer (4b) in the damping part (4) can comprise glass fibers and/or ceramic fibers and can be provided with a set of holes (4d) and/or radial cuts (4e) of various shape, wherein their number, size and arrangement are different for individual designs of the dampers in relevance to their shape.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling an airflow. The method draws air through a group of inlets. The group of inlets is located in a group of locations on the vehicle such that the group of inlets actively controls the airflow relative to an aircraft when drawing the air. The method compresses the air drawn by the group of inlets in a group of air compressor units located in an aircraft structure to form pressurized air. Further, the method sends the pressurized air through a group of exit ports in the aircraft structure. The pressurized air flowing out of the group of exit ports actively controls the airflow for an aircraft, enabling an improved performance of the aircraft.

Abstract: An axle of railway wheel sets and a corresponding method for the ultrasound inspection are described. A blind hole, coaxial to the axle and sized to accommodate an ultrasonic probe, is obtained in each end of the axle. Main holes are intended to accommodate the probe holder containing a plurality of ultrasonic transducers for the inspection of the axle from the inside of the hole. The main advantage is to facilitate the propagation of the ultrasounds without being subjected to the interference caused by the geometric discontinuities normally present at the ends of the axles thereby minimizing false positives in the readings of the echoes.

Abstract: A fluid tank assembly is provided for use with a mobile machine. The fluid tank assembly may have a tank with a lower surface, an upper surface located opposite the lower surface, and at least one side surface joining the lower and upper surfaces.
