Abstract: A rim for a braked aircraft wheel includes an outer circular portion whose ends are terminated flanges for receiving a tire. The outer circular portion is connected by a wheel disk to a hub for fitting on an undercarriage axle in order to rotate about an axis of rotation coinciding with a central axis of the rim. The rim is designed to receive the tire on the outside of the outer circular portion and a brake on the inside of the outer circular portion, the outer circular portion presenting on one side of the wheel disk that is to receive the brake, in a plane containing the central axis of the wheel, a profile that has two slopes forming non-zero angles with the central axis, the two slopes extending in the continuation of one another from the wheel disk to the corresponding flange and flaring towards said corresponding flange.

Abstract: A device and method for assisting a user in aircraft wheel assemblies is disclosed herein. The device enables a single user to readily connect two wheel sections in a split wheel assembly. The device is lightweight and reusable and preferably includes two bushings, two washers, a bolt, and a nut. After inserting the bolt through the wheel sections, a nut can be tightened, thereby creating a compressive force that compresses the bushings and the wheel sections together. While the wheel sections are compressed together, a plurality of tie bolts and tie nuts can be installed on the wheel sections to complete the wheel assembly.

Abstract: A shut down system of a fuel cell vehicle includes: a fuel cell configured to output a high voltage; a rechargeable high voltage battery; a bidirectional converter arranged between an output terminal of the fuel cell and the high voltage battery; a first relay arranged between the fuel cell and the bidirectional converter; and a controller configured to control a voltage of the bidirectional converter when the fuel cell vehicle stalls to reduce a voltage of the output terminal of the fuel cell and turn off the first relay when a voltage value of the output terminal of the fuel cell is below a preset voltage reference value.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling an airflow. The method draws air through a group of inlets. The group of inlets is located in a group of locations on the vehicle such that the group of inlets actively controls the airflow relative to an aircraft when drawing the air. The method compresses the air drawn by the group of inlets in a group of air compressor units located in an aircraft structure to form pressurized air. Further, the method sends the pressurized air through a group of exit ports in the aircraft structure. The pressurized air flowing out of the group of exit ports actively controls the airflow for an aircraft, enabling an improved performance of the aircraft.

Abstract: A rotary ring of a hub unit has an annular end face on one side in the axial direction, and a tapered outer periphery in a radially outer region of the end face. The diameter of the tapered outer periphery increases toward the other side in the axial direction. An outer ring of a joint has an annular end face on the other side in the axial direction, and had a tapered inner periphery in a radially outer region of the end face. The diameter of the tapered inner periphery increases toward the other side in the axial direction, and the tapered inner periphery faces the tapered outer periphery. Splines are formed in the tapered outer periphery and splines are formed in the tapered inner periphery, and the splines of the tapered outer periphery and the splines of the tapered inner periphery mesh with each other.

Abstract: An enclosed volume is provided for performing operations in space, or on any astronomical object, in a manner separated from aspects of the external environment. The enclosed volume can be a flexible container for a satellite. The enclosed volume can include a membrane having a fluid barrier layer and being configured to contain a propellant gas or fluid; and an expulsion device configured to expel material from the membrane. In a stowed configuration, the flexible container is contained within the satellite, and in a deployed configuration, the flexible container extends away from the satellite. The flexible container can inflate from one shape, in the undeployed configuration, to another shape, in a deployed configuration. The other shape can be toroidal or other appropriate shapes. The flexible container can provide bipropellant, blowdown, and gas/fluid metering functionality. Entertainment and game play can be enabled by the enclosed volume involving robots and other devices.
