Disclosed is a vehicle control device which is applied to a vehicle equipped with an engine (10) and an engine torque adjustment mechanism for adjusting an output torque (engine torque) of the engine (10). The vehicle control device comprises a PCM (50) configured, upon satisfaction of a condition that the vehicle is traveling and a steering angle-related value relevant to a steering angle of a steering device is increasing, to control the engine torque adjustment mechanism to reduce the engine torque so as to generate vehicle deceleration to control vehicle attitude. The PCM (50) is further configured to gradually ease the condition, as the number of times of combustion per unit time in the engine (10) becomes smaller.

Described is a system and method that provides the ability for an autonomous driving vehicle (ADV) to determine (or estimate) one or more control characteristics for the ADV. In order to determine these control characteristics, the system may perform one or more driving maneuvers such as an acceleration or deceleration maneuver, and a constant velocity maneuver. By performing these maneuvers using various known forces, the system may then perform various calculations to obtain one or more unknown characteristics. For example, the system may determine as estimated mass of the ADV, and as a result, adjust (or tune) various controls of the ADV based on the estimated mass.

A desired change of a time derivative of dynamic torque (Tqfw), provided to an output shaft from an engine in a vehicle, from a current value to a new desired value is determined. A current rotational speed difference (Δωpres) is determined between a first end of the powertrain in a vehicle, which rotates with a first rotational speed (ω1), and a second end of the powertrain, which rotates with a second rotational speed. The first rotational speed (ω1) is then controlled on the basis of the desired value of the time derivative for the dynamic torque (Tqfw), a spring constant (k) related to a torsional compliance in the powertrain, and the determined current rotational speed difference {Δωpres). Through control of the first rotational speed, the current value for the time derivative for the dynamic torque is also indirectly controlled towards the desired value.

A system and method for controlling a transmission system is provided. One agricultural vehicle includes a vehicle controller configured to instruct an engine controller to maintain an engine at a constant speed and to receive a first signal from a transmission controller indicative of gear shift initiation. The vehicle controller is also configured to instruct the engine controller to maintain the engine at a current torque upon receipt of the first signal and to receive a second signal from the transmission controller indicative of gear shift completion. The vehicle controller is configured to instruct the engine controller to maintain the engine at the constant speed upon receipt of the second signal.

A system and method for opening an engine clutch of a hybrid vehicle are provided. The method and system enhance fuel efficiency by saving a fuel injection amount based on a fuel injection time of an engine, by adjusting an input torque of an engine clutch to be zero using an HSG torque connected to the engine while reducing the fuel injection time into the engine from the time when the opening of the engine clutch starts to adjust.

The first clutch is disposed between the engine and the motor/generator. The second clutch is disposed between the motor/generator and a drive wheel. The engine start control section has a second clutch slip transition control section that is configured to control a transition of the second clutch to slip engagement when an engine start control is begun based on a mode transition request resulting from an accelerator depression operation, by increasing the torque transmission capacity of the second clutch according to a prescribed slope after dropping the torque transmission capacity of the second clutch to a value smaller than a target drive force.

The control device of the present invention causes an engine to perform both partial cylinder operation and also all-cylinder operation, and moreover changes the operating point of the engine when the motor torque of a second motor-generator enters into operating point changeover ranges R1 and R2. The operating point changeover range R2 when the engine is performing partial cylinder operation is set to be wider, as compared to the operating point changeover range R1 when the engine is performing all-cylinder operation.
