    摘要: An anti-theft device for use with a dashboard mounted control of the type typically found in trucks having an axially moving shaft with a hand-grip knob is provided. The anti-theft device includes a locking pin provided through an aperture of the shaft. The anti-theft device also includes a locking device having a base and a shackle portion. The shackle portion is at least partially removably coupled to the base portion. The base has a first coupling device adapted to receive a first end of the locking pin. The shackle includes a second coupling device adapted to receive the second end of the locking pin. When the first end of the locking pin is received in the first coupling device and the second end of the locking pin is received in the second coupling device, and when the shackle portion is coupled to the base portion, the locking means substantially prevents inward axial movement of the shaft.

    摘要: A shield of rigid sheet metal is of a size and shape to substantially cover the instrument panel of an aircraft. A pair of shrouds on the bottom of the shield are spaced so that each fits over one of the control columns of the aircraft, and aligned holes in each shroud are adapted to receive a padlock to lock the shield in place. The shrouds are of a length to fit closely over the control columns when fully extended to prevent any significant movement of the control column axially and pins, which are secured to the shield, extent through openings in the control columns to prevent any accidental or unauthorized turning. A cylindrical housing open at one end is received over the throttle control, and a lock stem extending vertically from the housing is received in a tube, which is fixed to the shield, when the shield is possitioned on the instrument panel so that there can be no manipulation of the throttle.

An electric solenoid is energized along with the ignition system to retract the lock member and allow the parking brakes to be released. The preferred device also includes a timer apparatus that requires the parking brakes to be released according to a predetermined timing sequence in order to substantially prevent theft of the vehicle.

    摘要: A gear selection mechanism for a vehicle, including a link member arranged at one end to be coupled to the gear selection lever and arranged at its other end to be coupled to the gear box. The link member normally transmits the movement of the lever to the gear box to operate the gear box, and the link member is provided with first and second parts which are capable of movement relative to one another. The mechanism further includes a locking member selectively operable by the driver of the vehicle to either lock the two parts of the link member relative to one another so that the link member acts as a solid component, and transmits the movement of the operating lever to the gear box, or alternatively releases the two parts of the link member so that they can move relative to one another in which situation the link member does not transmit the movement of the lever to the gear box.

    摘要: An interlock system for preventing energization of a vehicle engine starting motor except when the power transmission of the vehicle is in a zero power transmission range, the interlock system including a transmission range selector movable between a plurality of positions corresponding to the ranges of the transmission, a control member operatively connected to the vehicle ignition switch and movable between a plurality of positions corresponding to the various operative configurations of the ignition switch, a probe attached to the control member for bodily movement as a unit therewith and for limited universal movement relative thereto, and a keeper supported on the range selector for unitary movement therewith and having an aperture therein for reception of the probe. When the transmission is in a power transmitting range, the keeper is disposed across the path of motion of the probe to arrest movement of the control member before the ignition switch energizes the engine starting motor and when the transmission is in a zero power transmission range, the aperture is aligned with the probe so that movement of the control member is unimpeded. The limited universal movement capability of the probe effectively prevents the development of friction between the keeper and the probe so that there is no tendency of the latter to bind or stick in the aperture.
