摘要: A vehicle safety device to be usually installed in a vehicle in a folded form and inflatable within an appropriate period of time necessary to protect the occupant from a collision against the interior components of the vehicle. The device, namely air bag, is composed of a composite material comprising an air permeable and stretchable knitted fabric and a coating layer of elastomer or analogue thereof formed on the surface of the fabric and having microporous openings. When the internal pressure exceeds a predetermined level in an event of collision, the stretching stitches of the fabric are brought out of balance with the coating layer to form new openings other than the microporous openings, permitting an increased amount of pressurized gas to be released from both openings throughout the bag and causing the bag to reduce the energy of impact by virtue of deformation of the bag due to free stretching.

摘要: An air belt having mesh webbing sufficiently strong and sufficiently expandable in the circumferential direction of a bag-shaped belt and an air belt apparatus including the air belt are provided. An air belt includes a folded member being a bag-shaped belt folded in a band shape and mesh webbing covering the folded member of the bag-shaped belt. The mesh webbing hardly expands in the longitudinal direction of the air belt, and is flexibly expandable in the circumferential direction of the bag-shaped belt. The mesh webbing is made of a raschel-knitted material. The knitted material is arranged such that the extending direction of knot portions of yarn threads and corresponds to the longitudinal direction of the air belt.

摘要: An inflatable, energy-absorbing device for positioning behind a deployable front surface of a vehicle includes at least one air bag. Each of the at least one air bag is made of a drop stitch material comprising at least an outer and an inner layer of fabric and an internal reinforcement in the form of one or more internal stitchings which extends/extend around the airbag between opposing surfaces of the outer and inner layers of fabric. The inflatable, energy-absorbing device is configured to, upon actuation thereof by means of a sensor system for detecting approaching or actual impacts, inflate and thereby deploy the front surface of the vehicle in the driving direction of the vehicle. A deployable soft nose structure is also disclosed. The deployable soft nose structure comprises a deployable front surface and at least one inflatable, energy-absorbing device as defined above, positioned behind deployable the front surface.

摘要: An air belt which is smoothly supported by an anchor, and is directly wound by a retractor is provided. The air belt includes a belt having a sheet-shaped single layer portion, a double layer portion having the shape of a flat, hollow tube, and a middle portion which is disposed between the single layer portion and the double layer portion. A bag is contained in the double layer portion. Both the bag and the belt are connected to the tongue at the ends thereof. The single layer portion of the belt is inserted through the anchor, and is connected to the seat belt retractor in a windable and extractable manner. The belt is manufactured by continuously and integrally forming the single layer portion, the middle portion, and the double layer portion with a woven or knit fabric. A weft may be inserted through the single layer portion.

摘要: A first air bag comprises an upper cloth and a lower cloth, the peripheries of the both cloths being connected, characterized in that the upper cloth consists of an airtight sheet obtained by weaving a composite fiber composed of a filament core and a thermoplastic polymer bonded thereto which has a melting point lower than that of said filament core, and then fusing said thermoplastic polymer so that the surface of said upper cloth has a continuous thermoplastic polymer layer. A second air bag consists of a membranous material having a breaking extension of 100% or more. A third air bag comprises an elastomer body and a shape-retaining member partially attached to the elastomer body, said member being composed of elastic fibers or threads and high-modulus fibers.

摘要: A multilayer film is provided that includes a) a barrier layer including a thermoplastic polyester elastomer or a polyamide copolymer; b) an intermediate layer provided on the barrier layer and including a maleic anhydride (MAH)-grafted polyolefin and an α-olefin copolymer; and c) an adhesive layer provided on the intermediate layer and including a thermoplastic polyester elastomer or a polyamide copolymer. The multilayer film enables production of gas-tight multilayer laminates which exhibit an excellent peel resistance combined with a low weight and/or thickness. Further, a multilayer laminate and an inflatable airbag that include a fabric layer adhered to the multilayer film, as well as methods of manufacturing are described.
