摘要: A method and system using at least two different working fluids to be supplied to an expander to cause it to do mechanical work. The expander is started by providing a compressed gaseous working fluid at a sufficient pressure to the expander. At the same time the compressed gaseous working fluid is provided to the expander, a second working fluid that is liquid at ambient temperatures is provided to a heater to be heated. The second working fluid is heated to its boiling point and converted to pressurized gas Once the pressure is increased to a sufficient level, the second working fluid is injected into the expander to generate power, and the supply of the first working fluid may be stopped. After expansion in the expander, the working fluids are is exhausted from the expander, and the second working fluid may be condensed for separation from the first working fluid. Control circuitry controls the admission of the first and second working fluids responsive to monitoring the load on the expander.Waste heat in the exhaust from the expander can be used to heat or alternatively to dry an element in a device that can be operated as a desiccator to dry air when operated in a summer mode, or to heat air when operated in a winter mode. The air having been dried or alternatively heated is then ducted to an evaporative cooler which cools the dried air in summer mode and humidifies the heated air in winter mode.

摘要: An oil-operated motor driven from an air-pressurized oil supply tank. The motor has sets of opposing cylinders having oil admission valves and containing drive pistons connected to a crankshaft. The cylinders are connected to the pressurized supply tank through the admission valves and respective ones of a pair of compressed air-controlled pilot valves. The pilot valves are controlled by relay valves alternately opened by a rotating cam driven by the crankshaft. The pilot valves control the delivery of pressurized oil to cylinders arranged to be alternately supplied with pressurized oil, with their pistons acting to drive the crankshaft in a common direction by alternate power pulsations. A common compressed air supply is employed to pressurize the oil reservoir and to operate the pilot valves. The exhaust oil from the motor is returned to the oil reservoir by a hydraulic pump driven by the main oil-operated motor.

摘要: This invention relates to an air powered vehicle including a chassis and wheels to which is connected an airpowered, reciprocating piston engine having intake and exhaust systems. A suspension type compressor is operatively connected between a wheel and the chassis whereby vertical movement of the wheel due to unevenness of the road or bumps provided on the wheel causes the compressor to operate and provide compressed air. This compressor is provided with inlet and exhaust ports connected, respectively, to a reservoir, whereby operation of the compressor pumps air to the reservoir for operation of the engine.

摘要: A system utilizing a pressure storage vessel for initially charging a first air cylinder of a series of air cylinders. Valve means admits a flow of pressurized air, in a sequential manner, into the cylinders for piston movement downwardly to compress spring members to a loaded condition. Additional valve means, closed during downward piston movement, are subsequently actuated to permit discharge of an air impulse, by the action of said spring combined with a second source of air pressure acting on the underside of the piston. The last cylinder of the series is operable to impart a force to a media for the operation of a motor for powering a vehicle.
