摘要: A complete cleaning system for printing cylinders within a rotary printing press, by which a reactive erasing of ink-bearing layers, including the removal of filling materials from a gravure printing form, and a cleaning of ink from all form and transfer cylinders are possible during the printing process or during printing pauses. At least one erasing device is provided which emits a jet of water under pressure that can be directed against the corresponding outer surface of each desired cylinder so that, on the one hand, all traces of ink can be removed and, on the other hand, a reactive erasing of ink-conducting layers including filling materials from a gravure printing-form cylinder is possible.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a method for producing a high gloss coating on a printed surface. In the present method, an aqueous coating composition is deposited onto a surface to be printed using a blanket roller coating face which is a low energy, non-stick, smooth surface profile. In the present method, simultaneous with the deposition of aqueous coating onto a substrate, or shortly thereafter, pressure either alone or in combination with heat may be applied to the coating in order to create a substantially tack-free surface conforming to the surface of the coating face. By using a highly polished coating face, high gloss coatings may be readily obtained using this methodology in a number of traditional printing techniques including wet trap inline sheet-fed printing, heat-set offset printing, dry trap inline flexographic printing, offset web-fed printing and gravure printing. Coatings which are produced utilizing the present invention have high gloss values heretofore unobtainable using aqueous coating compositions.

摘要: In a circulation treatment system and method for treating a fountain solution the amounts of BOD, COD, n-hexane and SS are reduced in the fountain solution to recycle the fountain solution without draining it off. Circulation passages are connected to a vessel of a dampening section of an offset rotary press via communication passages, and circulate a fountain solution by introducing the fountain solution in the vessel from an introducing port and discharging the fountain solution from a discharging port. In the course of the circulation passages is a line pump for forcibly circulating the fountain solution, a potential absorption filtering device using an absorbing effect of a zeta potential, and an activated carbon filtering device using an absorbing effect of activated carbon. Fine particles of ink, paper, oil or similar materials contained in the fountain solution are first absorbed and removed by the potential absorption filtering device and then the fountain solution is decolorized and deodorized by the activated carbon filtering device.

摘要: The invention relates to a device and method for removal of impurities from, and recirculation of, cleaning agent in a printing machine. Contaminated cleaning agent is purified by passing it through a series of sedimentation devices. In these sedimentation devices, gravity is used to separate the cleaning agent into its constituent parts. Once the impurities have been removed from the cleaning agent, the constituent parts that can be reused are recirculated to the washing devices of the printing machine while the impurities are disposed appropriately.

摘要: The present invention is an air operated fluid handling apparatus for cleaning lithographic presses. It provides a printing press operator with a device for both dispensing ink solvents and removing spent fluids used in the printing process. Compressed air is regulated and directed to a T-section connector. One conduit extends from the connector to provide pressure in an ink-solvent container. Another conduit extends from the connector to a venturi which is used to create a vacuum in a used-fluid container. A conduit extends from each container and connects to a light weight flexible hose. Connected to the opposite end of the flexible hose is a valve and nozzle assembly that allows the press operator to alternate between dispensing ink solvent and remove spent fluid. With this apparatus the press operator can effectively move from printing head to printing head dispensing ink solvent and removing used fluids as necessary for ink train and dampening system cleanup.

摘要: A screen printer which has a cleaning device for cleaning a mask which is formed with at least a hole of a printing pattern. The cleaning device includes a spatula member and an airstream generating device. The spatula member is moved along the surface of the mask in contact therewith so as to scrape ink adhered to the mask surface. The airstream generating device generates an airstream passing through the hole of the mask so as to remove ink within the hole of the mask.

摘要: An offset sheet-fed press is provided with a cleaning apparatus for an impression cylinder. The cleaning apparatus includes a cleaning unit which includes a frame member, a magazine roll provided with a spring brake for a cleaning cloth, a wind-up roll for winding up the cleaning cloth while stepwisely transferring the cleaning cloth by a wind-up torque motor, guide rolls for guiding the cleaning cloth so that the cleaning cloth faces the outer surface of the impression cylinder between the magazine roll and the wind-up roll, and a plurality of air cylinders arranged in parallel and disposed on the rear surface side of the cleaning cloth facing the impression cylinder. The cleaning unit further includes a cleaning cloth press assembly provided with a linear press blade linerally pressing the cleaning cloth against the impression cylinder on the side of the magazine roll, a plate-like guide disposed on the side of the wind-up roll and a surface press pad pressing the surface of the impression cylinder. The surface press pad is disposed between the blade and the plate-like guide. The air cylinder acts to move the cleaning cloth press assembly along a substantially U-shaped guide so that the linear press blade moves substantially on a radial line of the impression cylinder.

摘要: An enhanced system for cleaning a component, such as a blanket, of a printing press in one embodiment provides circulation of wash mixture around a path in such a way that pressure of fluid in the supply line can never exceed ambient pressure. This may be achieved, for example, by utilizing a pump disposed in the return line (rather than in the supply line). Another embodiment provides a spray arrangement for spraying wash mixture onto the component to be cleaned. The spray arrangement has nozzles that are in communication with a feed region (such as the interior of a spray bar) and an isolation valve arrangement for in an open state permitting and in a closed state preventing fluid pressure transmission from the rest of the system to the feed region. A pressure arrangement modifies fluid pressure in the feed region when the isolation valve arrangement is in a closed state. The pressure may be modified so that when the spray arrangement is being prepared for spraying, the pressure is increased above ambient pressure. At other times, the pressure may be below ambient pressure. The pressure arrangement may be realized by a cylinder-piston system, wherein the piston is biased in a first direction to increase the pressure and in a second direction to decrease the pressure.
