Abstract:
An apparatus for adjustably positioning a form roll having a form roll axis against at least two different sized plate cylinders in a variable cutoff printing unit is provided. The apparatus includes a plate cylinder support for interchangeably supporting the at least two different sized plate cylinders, the plate cylinder support including a plate cylinder axis at least two different sized plate cylinder cams. The at least two different sized plate cylinder cams are interchangeably removably connectable to the plate cylinder support and include a smaller plate cylinder cam and a larger plate cylinder cam that are removably connectable to the plate cylinder support as alternatives of each other. The apparatus also includes a form roll hanger for supporting the form roll that is configured for contacting the smaller plate cylinder cam if the smaller plate cylinder cam is coupled to the plate cylinder support to set a smaller distance between the plate cylinder axis and the form roll axis. The form roll hanger is also configured for contacting the larger plate cylinder cam if the larger plate cylinder cam is coupled to the plate cylinder support to set a larger distance between the plate cylinder axis and the form roll axis. A method of adjustably positioning a form roll and a variable cutoff printing press are also provided.

The at least one selected inking device (90*; 95*; 100*) amongst the plurality of inking devices (90, 90*; 95, 95*; 100, 100*) of the inking system (90-93, 90*, 93*; 95-99, 95*, 99*; 100-104, 100*, 104*) is supported onto the inking carriage (52; 55; 57) via a movable frame (60; 65; 70), which movable frame (60; 65; 70) is supported by the inking carriage (52; 55; 57) to allow movement of the selected inking device (90*; 95*; 100*) with respect to the inking carriage (52; 55; 57) and with respect to a remaining part (90; 95; 100) of the plurality of inking devices (90, 90*; 95, 95*; 100, 100*).
Abstract:
An adjuster for first and second print rollers carried on respective first and second supports has a first spindle extending along and rotatable about an axis between the supports and formed with a pair of axially spaced screwthreads of the same hand but of different pitches. One of the screwthreads is threaded into the first support and the other into a first nut rotatable about the axis and axially fixed in the second support. A mechanism serves for either arresting the nut against rotation relative to the second support and or rotating the nut relative to the second support.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for aligning at least two cylinders in a parallel manner relative to each other. In a first step, one cylinder is rotated and moved in a parallel manner towards the other cylinder in order to align a first end of the cylinder, and in a second step, the second end of the cylinder is rotated and moved towards the other cylinder in order to align the second end of the cylinder.
Abstract:
An inking system (3) of a flexographic printing press with an anilox roller (10) and a printing plate roller (20) is shown. As a rule such inking systems contain setting devices (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25) with which (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25) the positions, relative to the impression cylinder (1), of these two rollers (10, 20) involved in color transport and the positions, relative to one another, of the two rollers (10, 20) involved in color transport can be set, by bearing blocks (15, 25), in which the axles of the two rollers (10, 20) involved in color transport are mounted, being traversed, where the force necessary for setting the position of the two rollers (10, 20) involved in color transport is prepared, by spindles (12, 22), which engage through nuts mounted in or on the bearing blocks (15, 25), being turned by motors (11, 21). It is considered as inventive that all the motors (11, 21) are mounted on the machine frame (2) on the side (turned toward the impression cylinder (1) of the two rollers (10, 20) involved in color transport.
Abstract:

Abstract:
Provided is an ink supply device for a printing machine which can accurately supply a quantity of ink necessary for acquiring desired concentration while making the fine adjustment of concentration of ink by an operator unnecessary. A control device 34 of the ink supply device includes: a concentration prediction value calculation means 53 which acquires a concentration prediction value when the concentration becomes stable based on concentration measured values of a predetermined number of printed matters; a graph change value calculation means 54 which acquires a graph change value using the concentration prediction value and a concentration target value; and a control graph value calculation means 55 which acquires a control graph value for controlling a rotational angle based on a preset set graph value and the graph change value.
Abstract:
A device is provided for engaging and/or disengaging a roller with or from a first mating roller. The device includes a second mating roller, with which the roller is engaged, and with a basic unit, with which the roller can be moved to or away from the first mating roller in the circumferential direction of the second mating roller. A process for engaging and/or disengaging a roller of a printing press with or from a first mating roller is provided wherein the roller is engaged with a second mating roller and the roller is guided in the circumferential direction of the second mating roller in the state in which it is engaged with the second mating roller.
