    Abstract: An ultraviolet drying device (37) and a photoelectric sensor (70) for detecting the outer surface of a transport cylinder (36) are provided at a position close to the outer surface of the transport cylinder (36) arranged downstream in a sheet-like material convey direction of a reverse printing unit (11) for subsequent printing. When the ultraviolet drying device (37) is turned on and the photoelectric sensor (70) detects that a contamination-preventive member is mounted on the outer surface of the transport cylinder (36), the driving of a printing press stops. Also, when an IR lamp (46) of an infrared drying device (47) is turned on and the photoelectric sensor (70) detects that the contamination-preventive member is not mounted on the outer surface of the transport cylinder (36), the driving of the printing press is stopped. With this arrangement, deformation of the contamination-preventive member mounted to protect the cylinder is prevented in a liquid transfer apparatus.

    Abstract: A sheet-like member holding device includes a first holding unit disposed between a gripper receiving portion and a side wall of a gap, and configured to hold a base of a non-metal sheet. The first holding unit includes a space in which the base is inserted while the non-metal sheet extends inward in a radial direction from an outer surface side of a printing cylinder, and an abutment wall configured to restrict movement of the base to the outside in the radial direction. An end portion of the space in an axial direction of the printing cylinder is open to the outside. This makes it possible to attach and detach the non-metal sheet by a simple method without moving a gripper member or gripper pad.

    Abstract: A packing sheet overlaying device for offset printing in which a packing sheet can readily be attached to and released from a cylinder of an offset printing machine or the like. The packing sheet is held in position at one end by a gripper which is attached to a bracket which is rotatably mounted on a cam lever shaft. A slot is formed in the bracket and a screw passes through the slot to secure the bracket to the cylinder to lock the packing sheet in place. When it is desired to change the packing sheet, the screw is loosened and the bracket rotated through an angle defined by the length of the slot to thereby form a gap between the gripper and the corresponding edge of the cylinder. The other end of the packing sheet is held in position by a tensioning mechanism including a tensioning knob provided to adjust the tension on the packing sheet.
