    摘要: The invention relates to a method of aligning a plurality of printed motifs on a sheet (3) in a converting machine (10). An actual position (Pa_1) at a first sensor is defined as an initial reference position (P_ref1) for the sheet, and at least one displacement error (Δd2) is calculated and compared to a first threshold (T1). If the displacement error is lower than the first threshold, then the angular position (α) of a printing cylinder (42) in the second flexographic printing unit (16b) is adjusted. However, if the error is higher than the first threshold, then at least part of the of the displacement error (Δd_2) is corrected by modifying the speed (V) of a vacuum transfer unit located between the first printing unit and the second printing unit.

    摘要: In some examples, a processing machine for processing a substrate includes at least one shaping unit. The at least one shaping unit includes at least one forme cylinder and at least one impression cylinder. A processing point for processing a substrate is arranged between the at least one forme cylinder and the at least one impression cylinder. The processing machine includes a control unit for correcting a processing length of the substrate, and which controls a speed of at least one of the at least one forme cylinder or the at least one impression cylinder. The at least one forme cylinder and the at least one impression cylinder have a speed ratio with respect to one another that is changeable at the processing point as a function of the processing length of the substrate, and the speed ratio differs at least once within a full cylinder revolution.

    摘要: A corrugated box making machine has a vacuum transfer mechanism for moving corrugated boards along a path of conveyance including stations having printing and die cutter mechanisms which operate on the boards. The printing mechanisms include a print and impression cylinder, the latter being mounted in a vacuum housing that also holds drive rolls for moving the boards along the path during which the boards are held against the rolls by vacuum in the housing. The latter is movable substantially above the print cylinder to provide convenient access for maintenance of the print cylinder or replacement of its printing plates.

    摘要: A wetness indicating polymeric film and method of making the film is provided. The method includes feeding a polymer film into a flexographic printing apparatus; printing at least one wetness indicator ink onto a first side of the perforated polymer; and perforating the polymer film by forming a plurality of apertures or enlarged micropores that extend from the first side to the second side. The apertures or enlarged micropores permit a sufficient quantity of an aqueous liquid to pass from the second side through the perforated polymer film to the first side. Upon contact, the aqueous liquid reacts with the wetness indicator ink to cause a color change visible by an unaided human eye. In an absorbent article including the inventive film as a backsheet, the total amount of liquid that passes through the backsheet is negligible and the barrier properties of the backsheet as a whole are not compromised.
