A fiber composite material component has fiber bundles and a matrix of thermoplastic and/or thermosetting material. The fiber bundles are arranged such that they form a profile. Bracing structures are arranged between the fiber bundles. At least two fiber bundles are arranged in a skewed manner with respect to one another and at least one cavity is formed in the region of the intersection of the skewed fiber bundles. Furthermore, a method for producing a fiber composite material component having fiber bundles and a matrix of thermoplastic and/or thermosetting material, is provided.

A method for controlling an injection process in an open-loop or closed-loop manner in the production of a molded part injects melt mass by at least one injection unit into at least one cavity enclosed by a tool by means of at least one nozzle. The at least one cavity has at least one measuring location, which is coupled to a binary detector, which can change from a first defined state to a second defined state. The binary detector changes the state thereof at the time at which the melt mass arrives at the measuring location. On the basis of the state change of the binary detector, an open-loop or closed-loop control unit controls the injection velocity V of the at least one injection unit in an open-loop or closed-loop manner, the temperature T of the melt mass before the injection, the termination of the injection at the at least one nozzle, and/or the starting of a subsequent process.

A method is provided for producing a steering wheel for a vehicle, especially for a motor vehicle. The method according to one form of the invention comprises the following steps: producing a steering wheel frame having a hub base, a steering wheel rim and at least one spoke by providing a hub insert, injection-molding a plastic matrix around the hub insert to give the hub base, the hub base having a hollow shape forming the interior and reinforcing structures being arranged in the interior of the hub base, injection-molding and/or gas-assisted injection molding or water injection molding the at least one spoke and the steering wheel rim from the plastic matrix, the at least one spoke connecting the hub base to the steering wheel rim, and at least partially coating the steering wheel frame with a coating. The invention also relates to a steering wheel produced by this method.

The present invention provides an injection molding method capable of impregnating a supercritical fluid stably and partially in molten resin in a plasticizing cylinder of an injection molding apparatus. The above object is achieved by providing the method of injection molding which includes measuring a filling amount of the molten resin in the plasticizing cylinder, introducing a supercritical fluid into the molten resin in the plasticizing cylinder while moving back the screw by a predetermined distance without rotating the screw from a position of the screw at the time of completing the measuring, detecting a pressure of the molten resin, and determining based on the pressure an injection start position for the screw.

An injection molding apparatus is provided that comprises a molding tool having a mold cavity, a source of pressurized gas, and a nozzle with a reciprocable pin, the pin valving gas injection into the molding cavity. A gas valve is positioned adjacent the nozzle, the gas valve selectively connecting the gas source with the nozzle. A nozzle having a reciprocable member for valving fluid injection in an injection molding apparatus is also provided. The nozzle includes a seal comprising a compressible elastomeric member and a sleeve, the reciprocable member slidable in the sleeve. Compression of the elastomeric member deforms the sleeve, creating a fluid seal with the reciprocable member.

In a plastic injection machine, a controller in electrical communication with a motorized clamp assembly, a heated cylinder barrel, a motorized pre-plasticizing assembly, an injection assembly, and an air mover and that executes an application that configures the controller to: (i) feed thermoplastic material into a heated cylinder barrel that is closed at one end by an injection valve; (ii) warm the heated cylinder barrel to thermoplastic material to a liquid state; (iii) actuate an injection motor to preload a spring biased plunger received within another end of the heated cylinder barrel, thereby pressurizing liquid thermoplastic material in the heating cylinder barrel to an injection pressure set value; (iv) actuate an injection valve motor to open the injection valve causing the pressurized liquid thermoplastic material to inject into a clamped mold; and (v) release a portion of the clamped mold to release the molded article.
