Abstract:
Various embodiments herein provide a remotely adjustable feed system for remotely controlling the movement of a tool head on a machining tool along an axis of motion by means of converting reciprocal linear motion, i.e., back and forth linear motion, into rotary motion. The rate of movement of the tool head along the axis of motion may be controlled by varying the distance of linear motion in each cycle of linear reciprocal motion and/or by varying the rate of linear reciprocal motion cycles per unit time. Alternatively, or in addition, the rate of movement of the tool head along the axis of motion may be controlled by varying the amount of rotary motion that results from a given amount of reciprocal linear motion. Additionally, in some embodiments, the movement of the tool head may be controlled by directly controlling the rotary motion that drives the tool head along the axis of motion. The rotary motion may be controlled by adjusting the speed of continuous rotation and/or adjusting the frequency of pulsed rotations.
Abstract:
A linear guide system which is used for highly precise control of a linear position applicable in display devices, semiconductors, robots, machine tools, and the entire measurement and precision instruments industry, and more specifically, an adjustable preload type linear guide system, wherein a base member and a slide member are slidably connected with each other for linear motion, and a linear motion actuator, such as a ball screw, a hydraulic cylinder, and a linear motor, is disposed between the base member and the slide member, thereby enabling the slide member to move linearly relative to the base member.

Abstract:
A weight supporting apparatus supports the weight of a structure required to have very high surface precision, without affecting the surface precision of the structure. The weight support apparatus includes a driving unit for moving a driven body in the direction of gravity with respect to a base, and a supporting unit for supporting the weight of the driven body at a position after being driven, wherein the driving unit and supporting unit are so arranged that the drive force of the driving unit and the support force of the supporting unit are on the same axis.
Abstract:
A linear conveying unit comprises a rail and a saddle movable therealong. The rail includes two pairs of tracks, with the tracks of each pair being convergent. The saddle carries front and rear groups of wheels for engaging the tracks. Each wheel group includes two pairs of wheels, each pair of wheels having convergent axes of rotation. To adjust the saddle in order to eliminate any gaps between the wheels and tracks, only one wheel of each wheel group is made to be radially adjustable. That adjustment is effected by an eccentric sleeve surrounding the wheel axle. The saddle is moved by a drive belt, the ends of which are connected to the saddle by quick-release couplings. The saddle includes a recess which is covered by a metallic tape that is magnetically attracted to a pair of magnetic rims.
Abstract:
A guided member is engaged with a guiding member and the guided member and guiding members are movable relative to each other. A pair of planar, parallel guide surfaces on the guide member are engaged by a pair of bearings mounted on the guided member. One of the bearings is resiliently biased into engagement with the guide surface which is less precisely formed so that irregularities in that guide surface or lack of parallelism between the guide surfaces is accommodated by displacement of the biased bearing. The bearings are mounted on bearing supports which depend from either side of a cross piece. The cross piece is secured to the guided member such that a portion of the cross piece is uncoupled from the guided member and is free to be deflected, thus providing the biasing for the biased bearing without transmitting stress to the guided member. Preferably, the apparatus is employed in a machine tool to guide the movement of a worktable.

A linear unit for manipulation devices and comprising a housing part having a passage therethrough for receiving a spindle sleeve and a cylindrical bore longitudinally intersecting the passage and for receiving the two bearing elements that support the spindle sleeve for displacement in the passage, the cylindrical bore having a longitudinal axis at least partially lying in a plane in which the longitudinal edge of the spindle sleeve and the longitudinal axis of the spindle sleeve lie, and forming an acute feed angle with the longitudinal axis of the spindle sleeve.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an optical system supporting mechanism of an image processing equipment featuring that at least two first guide members which move along a guide shaft and second guide members which are respectively placed corresponding to the first guide members, putting the guide shaft therebetween, are provided at a moving unit which supports an optical system that can travel along the guide shaft, arms rotatable centering around the shaft placed with the right angle to the axis of the guide shaft are provided at the moving unit, corresponding to the second guide members, the second guide members are attached to the end portions of the arms, and the arms are so energy-charged that the second guide members can be pushed against the guide shaft, thereby causing the tightening and fixing condition of the guide shaft between the first and the second guide members to be adjusted by the simple operation.
