Abstract: The description herein discloses a chainsaw, which may include: a saw chain; a guide bar equipped with the saw chain; a sprocket for running the saw chain along a periphery of the guide bar; a motor including an output shaft connected to the sprocket; a cooling fan connected to the output shaft; and a base member for holding the guide bar. The base member may be constituted of a heat conductive material having a thermal conductivity of 10 W/m·K or more when a temperature of the heat conductive material is 300 K. The base member may include: a plate portion arranged such that the plate portion faces the motor in a direction along the output shaft; and a rib portion protruding from the plate portion toward the motor.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a portable wood log splitter comprising a power unit and a work tool. The power unit comprises an engine and a gear box while the work tool comprises a drive shaft having a spreading mechanism and a splitting threaded cone. In some embodiments, the work tool is releasable from an output shaft of the gear box. The drive shaft of the work tool is hollow and provided with a thread on the outer circumference to drive the spreading mechanism. A nut with a toothed disc resides on the thread and able to shift in the axial direction of the drive shaft rotation axis due to rotation of the drive shaft. In operation, the splitting threaded cone is driven by force of the power unit to initially fracture a log, then using the spreading mechanism, the portions of the split log are fully separated under power.

The pumping mechanism is configured to deliver a lubricating medium to the working head. The pumping mechanism is configured to output the lubricating medium as triggered by movement of the protective member. When the working head is in a working state, the protective member is pushable by a to-be-cut object to move in a direction away from the working head, to trigger the pumping mechanism to output the lubricating medium.
