摘要: In an apparatus for disposing of wastewater in subsurface soil, corrosion-resistant wire-mesh is formed by profile-rolling into a conduit-arch skeletal framework with open floor and is covered with non-woven geofabric. This conduit, set in excavated trenches to form a leach field and is buried with permeable soil cover, allows dispersal of wastewater throughout the trenches without distribution pipe or crushed stone, and allows substantial evaporation from the trenches and substantial air infiltration into the trenches to encourage aerobic degradation of organics and ammonium. The wire-mesh is derived from easily available coils sold for wire-mesh fencing.

摘要: A method of producing steel with reduced internal stress concentrations is disclosed. In an embodiment, hot steel is shaped by a rolling mill. The resultant steel product is bundled as soon as practicable and the bundle is allowed to cool. Vibration energy is applied to the bundle of steel product so that internal stress concentrations within the steel product are relieved. In an embodiment, a plurality of bundles are stored on a rack and the rack is vibrated, the vibrations being transmitted to the plurality of bundles so that undesired internal stress concentrations within the steel products are relieved. Alternatively, magnetics may be used to relieve the undesired internal stress concentrations within the steel products. Thus, improved steel is produced as well as improved steel that can be produced more rapidly than known techniques.

摘要: A method for making a beam from a metal sheet (10), includes the steps of providing a metal sheet having opposite first and second side edges (12, 14) extending longitudinally along opposing sides of the metal sheet, and a first and a second generally parallel opposing face surfaces (16, 18) provided between the first and second edges. The first and second generally parallel opposing faces define a thickness of the metal sheet therebetween. The thickness of the metal sheet is split at one of the first and second side edges to form first and second integral flanges (28, 30, 32, 34) from a portion of the metal sheet such that inner ends of the first and second flanges remain integrally connected with an unsplit portion (44) of the metal sheet. The first and second flanges are then bent so as to provide the metal sheet with a tubular portion extending along one side of and integrally formed with the unsplit portion. The first and second flanges are then fixed against movement relative to one another.

摘要: Clad steel roiled section suitable for reinforcing concrete is disclosed, which is produced from a bimetallic ingot comprising a basic material containing a group of alloy elements including Si and Al, and a surface layer of a ferritic or austenitic stainless steel containing a group of alloy elements including Cr and Ni, by hot rolling the ingot to an intermediate billet and a rolled section, and subjecting the rolled section to heat treatment. A feature of the reinforcing clad steel rolled products is that the basic material is steel containing, in percent by weight, from 1.0 to 5.0 Si and from 0.1 to 5.0 Al, with the proviso that 3.0≦(Si+Al)≦6.0. The reinforcing clad rolled products exhibit superior mechanical strength and impact toughness, improved corrosion resistance and high bond strength between the layers and with concrete. The clad rolled products are produced by a method involving making a bimetallic bar with a stainless steel surface layer, hot rolling the bar in several passes by calibrated rolls, the final rolling being effected by calibrated rolls with corrugated surface observing the relationship: H 0 ψ · d ≤ 1 where Ho is the maximum depth (height) of corrugations on the roll surface, d is the bar diameter, &psgr; is the relative thickness of the stainless layer.

摘要: The invention relates to a method of producing novel metal sections. In the novel method, firstly a groove is made in a section limb by microstructure-changing deformation, then another section limb is placed in the groove and that material of the first section limb which is situated to the side of the groove is moved onto the side walls of the inserted section limb by means of pressure to such an extent that an at least force-fitting join between the two section limbs is made at the contact location. This method of microstructure-changing attachment of section limbs makes it possible to produce metal sections with virtually any desired geometry and using any desired starting materials in a cost-effective manner, the strengths of which section is comparable to metal sections produced in a previously known manner.

摘要: A rolling system has a plant producing a plurality of continuously advancing and parallel hot metal strands, a vertical-roll stand receiving the strands, and a horizontal-roll stand. The vertical-roll stand has an upstream row of vertical pairs of rolls and, immediately downstream therefrom in a movement direction of the strands, a downstream row of vertical pairs or rolls with nips offset laterally from the nips of the upstream row. Every other strand passes by the upstream roll pairs and through the nips of the downstream roll pairs and the remaining strands pass through the nips of the upstream roll pairs and by the downstream roll pairs. The horizontal-roll stand is aligned with the vertical-roll stand and has a pair of horizontal rolls forming a plurality of nips aligned in the direction with the vertical-roll stand nips.

摘要: A ring manufacturing method and a ring manufacturing apparatus according to the invention does not require the preparation of a specially shaped plate material for each type of ring plate to be manufactured. It is therefore possible to manufacture a ring plate of any thickness or width with a high degree of accuracy even in high-variety, low-volume production. In a plate material forming step, a round bar 1 is formed by rollers 3, 4 into a plate material having any desired cross-sectional shape. In a slant rolling step, the plate material is slant rolled by slant rollers 9, 10 and thereby formed into a specially shaped plate material whose thickness increases in the width direction from one side to the other. In a ring forming step, this specially shaped plate material is formed into a ring shape by a ring forming device 14. The specially shaped plate material can be formed on the ring forming production line, whereby the accuracy of the shape of the resulting ring is achieved without having to separately prepare a specially shaped plate material for each type of ring plate to be manufactured.
