摘要： A filter cartridge having a bypass filtration media is described. The filter cartridge includes main filtration media. In some arrangements, the main filtration media includes first filtration media and second filtration media that has a different filtering efficiency than the first filtration media. The filter cartridge is configured to be installed in a filtration system having a bypass mode. While in the bypass mode, fluid passing through the filtration system is allowed to bypass the main filtration media. To avoid unfiltered fluid from passing from the inlet of filtration system to the outlet (e.g., and on to an internal combustion engine), the fluid flows through the bypass filtration media (e.g., during cold start conditions). In some arrangements, the bypass filtration media has a lower filtering efficiency than the main filtration media.

摘要： A filter cartridge is described that is designed to accommodate for example dual stage filtration. The filter cartridge has an endplate structure formed of a heat cured material, such as polyurethane, where at least one of the top end and the bottom end of the outer filter and the inner filter are embedded within the heat cured material. The heat cured material can provide an endplate structure that is convenient for manufacture and that has one or more sealing surfaces to seal with a housing that the filter cartridge is assembled with. For example, the heat cured material of the endplate can seal non-filtered fluid from filtered fluid that has passed through each of the filtration stages available in the cartridge.

The filter may incorporate a replaceable filter element or be replaceable itself. The valve member is preferably formed as an annular flange of a grommet mounted to an end cap of the filter element. The annular flange sealingly engages with the end cap and closes a clean fluid outlet port in a relaxed state and opens the clean fluid outlet port in a deformed state.

摘要： A filtering device for fluids includes a filter housing (1) and a filter element (9) received in the filter housing. The filter element has an end cap (17) on at least one end. The end cap forms an enclosure for the corresponding end edge of the filtering material (23, 35) and is fixed on an element receiver (13) interacting with the bottom part (5) of the filter housing (1) to fix the position of the filter element (9) in its functional position. The element receiver forms a fluid path for the cleaned fluid exiting the hollow chamber (19) of the filter element (9). The element receiver (13) contains a valve arrangement (55) blocking the fluid path (35). A control device (79, 83) releasing the valve arrangement (55) in the functional position is on the end cap (17) of the filtering element (9). The end cap is fixed on the element receiver (13).
