摘要: A feedwell comprising a plurality of holes disposed in a bottom thereof, at least some of the holes having a tube disposed thereabout which extends downward or otherwise away from an interior of the feedwell. Optionally, a large center hole can be provided and it can have a tube disposed around it. By providing a plurality of holes spread across a large portion of the bottom of the feedwell, lower velocity flow rates from the feedwell to a sedimentation chamber can be provided, thus reducing induced turbulence in the fluid within the sedimentation chamber, while still providing sufficient separation of the feedwell from the sedimentation chamber so that the contents of the feedwell can be properly and adequately mixed.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method of adapting and manufacturing a separator system comprising multiple inclined separators for separation of respective substances or substances mixed in fluids from oil wells. The method also relates to adapting the separator system to a change in the substance or use with another oil well. The method involves a) determining percentage fraction of respective fluid phases in an oil from a specific oil well and at a specific time, b) estimating expected production rate from the specific oil well at a specific time, c) using the results from step a) and step b) to estimate streaming capacity of each respective fluid phase through separators of the separator system, d) using the respective estimates from step c) to adapt multiple separators comprising connecting an estimated number of separators in a serial manner to accommodate enough separator efficiency in the separator system, thereby enabling a separation of a fluid phase to a target purity of the fluid phase, e) using the results in c) and d) to i) arrange at least one first interconnecting framework of pipes providing communication of fluids from a common inlet of fluids into open one or more ends of the inner tubular sections respective parallel and serial interconnected separators of the separator system, ii) arrange at least one second interconnecting framework of pipes providing communication to respective outlets for each respective fluid phase outputs of the separator system.

摘要: An open top tank comprising a first internal compartment, second internal compartment, and third internal compartment, all longitudinally aligned, and a pair of diffusers situated on top of the first internal compartment. Each diffuser comprises an inner diffuser tube coupled to an outer diffuser tube. The inner diffuser tube comprises a plurality of slots, and the outer diffuser tube comprises at least one outlet port. The inner diffuser tube is situated inside of the outer diffuser tube to create an annular space between an outer surface of the inner diffuser tube and an inner surface of the outer diffuser tube.

摘要: A multi-phase flow separation apparatus has a vessel having a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and an enclosure separating the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. The enclosure has an open bottom that extends below the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. The open bottom of the enclosure has a plurality of distributed points of egress that are below the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. The fluid inlet induces an inlet flow vector on an inflow of fluid. Each point of egress defines a flow path, that, when defined as the path of least resistance from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet while traversing the respective point of egress, includes a reversal of the inlet flow vector.

摘要: A filter or clarification system for removing impurities from a liquid to be treated, i.e., influent. The system preferably includes a chamber for receiving a liquid to be treated. The chamber has a settling plate assembly including a plurality of inclined liquid passageways through which the liquid to be treated is directed to remove impurities from the liquid to be treated. An efficiency enhancement unit is operably associated with the settling assembly to improve the filtration efficiency of the settling assembly. Preferably, the efficiency enhancement unit includes a vibrator for imparting a vibration force to at least a portion of the settling assembly to improve the filtration efficiency of the settling assembly. Preferably, the vibrator acts to prevent impurities from collecting on one or more settling members in the settling assembly. The settling members can be settling plates or settling tubes. In the preferred form, the vibrator is operated during substantially the entire filtration cycle.

摘要: Apparatus is disclosed for substantially reducing the momentum, velocity, or both of a first liquid that is flowing into a second liquid. The device allows one to substantially reduce or even eliminate large-scale turbulent eddies that could otherwise be produced by liquid flowing into or within a vessel, for example in a clarifier. Suitably-sized and positioned plates and baffles induce changes of flow direction in a limited volume. By the time the fluid leaves this volume, the fluid velocity is low, and turbulence is nearly or entirely eliminated. Several of the devices may be placed at different inputs within a single clarifier, and thus increase efficiency further.
