Abstract: In one implementation, a computer-implemented method includes receiving, at a computer system, information that indicates that a fire has been detected in a building and that a fire suppression system within the building has begun dousing the fire; monitoring sensor information from one or more sensors located within the building; determining, by the computer system and based on the sensor information, whether the fire has been extinguished; activating, in response to determining that the fire has been extinguished, a feature to turn off a water supply to the building, the feature being presented on a computing device for a user who is associated with the building; receiving, after activating the feature and from the computing device, a command to turn off the water supply; and transmitting, by the computer system, a control signal that causes an electromechanical device to close a water valve within the building.

Abstract: A protective device prevents tampering with a pipe system. The system transmits fluid from an upstream end to a downstream end of the system. The protective device includes a pipe insert disposed within the system between the upstream and downstream ends, and a valve within the pipe insert. The valve is moveable between open and closed positions, wherein the open position opens the pipe insert, enabling transmission of the fluid through the pipe insert, and the closed position occludes the pipe insert, disabling transmission of the fluid through the pipe insert to the downstream end of the system. The device includes a sensor for disposition within the fluid to detect a target compound in the pipe insert. The valve moves from the open position to the closed position when the sensor detects the target compound.

Abstract: A protective device includes a pipe in a pipe system for transmission of a flow of a fluid from an upstream end of the pipe system to a downstream end of the pipe system. The device includes a pipe insert, disposed within the pipe system between the upstream and downstream ends. The pipe insert has a cylindrical body. A valve is within the pipe insert and is moveable between open and closed positions. The open position opens the pipe insert, enabling transmission of the flow of the fluid, and the closed position occludes the pipe insert, disabling transmission of the flow of the fluid. A sensor is within the pipe insert for disposition within the flow of the fluid to detect a target compound in the pipe insert. Abstract: A dry fire protection sprinkler in which, when a ratio of a pressure P1 of a pressurized fluid in a flexible tube to a pressure P3 of the fluid in a fluid supply line is less than a predetermined ratio of at least 3 to 1, a differential pressure controller sends a signal to a control valve to open, in order to allow the pressurized fluid in a pressurized fluid source at a pressure of P2 to enter the flexible tube, and, when the ratio of the pressure P1 of the pressurized fluid in the flexible tube to the pressure P3 of the fluid in the fluid supply line equals the predetermined ratio, the differential pressure controller sends a signal to the control valve to close.

Abstract: A wet pipe fire protection sprinkler system and method of operating a wet pipe fire sprinkler system includes providing a sprinkler system having a pipe network, a source of water for the pipe network, at least one sprinkler head connected with the pipe network and a drain valve for draining the pipe network. An inert gas source, such as a nitrogen gas source, is connected with the pipe network. Inert gas is supplied from the inert gas source to the pipe network. Water is supplied to the pipe network thereby substantially filling the pipe network with water and compressing the inert gas in the pipe network.

Abstract: A gas supply system primarily designed for use with fire sprinkler systems which includes a control system which uses flow demand to automatically determine the mode of operation and switch between providing air and nitrogen. The gas supply system can operate either in standard nitrogen generation mode where nitrogen is supplied to the reservoir tank and/or sprinkler system or in a bypass mode, where sufficient pressure is only obtained by directly supplying air. The gas supply system can provide for improved safety in operation as well as the ability to operate the sprinkler system primarily when filled with nitrogen supervisory gas.
