Abstract: A water extinguishing system has an extinguishing fluid supply adapted to provide an extinguishing fluid, at least one pump adapted to convey the extinguishing fluid from the extinguishing fluid supply into a supply line to a pipe system of the water extinguishing system, and a control unit adapted to operate the at least one pump in a controllable manner. The control unit is configured to start and to operate the pump for a pump test run on provision of a start signal and to end the pump test run and to stop the pump on provision of a stop signal. The control unit has a signal suppression unit which is adapted to at least temporarily suppress the provision of the stop signal in the event of a fire. The signal suppression unit is configured to be free of executing a computer program. A corresponding method operates a water extinguishing system.

Abstract: Fire extinguishing system (1) comprising a fire extinguisher (2) provided with a handle (5) configured such that upon activation thereof fire extinguishing substance is discharged through an outlet (4) of the fire extinguisher (2). A safety mechanism (6), which when in a first state, is arranged to prevent manual activation of the handle and when in a second state is arranged to allow manual activation of the handle. A control module (7) comprising a communication unit (8) and an actuator (9), wherein the actuator (9) is connected to the safety mechanism (6), and when the communication unit (8) receives a an activation signal the communication unit (8) is arranged to activate the actuator (9), wherein the actuator (9) causes the safety mechanism (6) to change from its first state into its second state and further causes fire extinguishing substance to discharge through the outlet (4) of the fire extinguisher (2).

The first chamber stores a fire extinguishing chemical agent, the second chamber stores a gas-generating chemical agent, and the activation line extends into the second chamber to be in contact with the gas-generating chemical agent. The second chamber includes a pressure relief opening, and the pressure relief opening is in communication with the first chamber, and is configured to spray the gas in the second chamber to the first chamber. The first chamber includes a discharge opening, and the discharge opening is configured to discharge the fire extinguishing chemical agent in the first chamber after the gas generated after the gas-generating chemical agent is ignited enters the first chamber.

Another example can include a 3D deployable fire curtain configured to automatically deploy around a battery pack to limit the spread of fire between battery packs. A further example can include a media reservoir positioned over a battery pack that is configured to hold non-combustible smothering media. A media retainer can be interposed between the battery pack and the media reservoir and configured to automatically release the non-combustible smothering media into the battery pack support structure when the battery pack experiences a fire.

Abstract: A wide-area wildfire suppression system uses a network of geographically distributed water sprayers, and includes at least one wind sensor and a fire-suppression controller communicatively coupled to the water sprayers and the at least one wind sensor. Abstract: In one implementation, a computer-implemented method includes receiving, at a computer system, information that indicates that a fire has been detected in a building and that a fire suppression system within the building has begun dousing the fire; monitoring sensor information from one or more sensors located within the building; determining, by the computer system and based on the sensor information, whether the fire has been extinguished; activating, in response to determining that the fire has been extinguished, a feature to turn off a water supply to the building, the feature being presented on a computing device for a user who is associated with the building; receiving, after activating the feature and from the computing device, a command to turn off the water supply; and transmitting, by the computer system, a control signal that causes an electromechanical device to close a water valve within the building.
