Abstract: Disclosed is a vacuum cleaner. In the disclosed vacuum cleaner, a dust container includes a casing which has one open side and in which a suction port is formed in a circumferential surface of the casing, a filter unit which is provided in the casing, allows air introduced through the suction port to pass, and filters out foreign matter contained in the air, and an inlet guide member which is provided on an inner surface of the casing corresponding to one edge of the suction port so that the air introduced through the suction port generates a vortex to guide foreign matter having a predetermined size or larger among the foreign matter to fall to an inner bottom of the casing and to guide foreign matter attached to a surface of the filter unit to be detached.

Abstract: A method is provided for operating a suction device that includes a suction unit and a removable filtering device. The suction unit generates a suction flow that flows through the filtering device when arranged on the suction device, in which, after the suction unit is started up, a check is performed of whether the filtering device is present, and if detected as not present, the suction unit is switched off. An evaluation unit uses check data to determine whether a switch-off signal is to be generated for the suction unit. The evaluation unit uses an algorithm or a table to arrive at a decision on switching off the suction unit based on the check data. The table contains at least one threshold value or the algorithm defines at least one threshold value, wherein the at least one threshold value is a threshold value for switching off the suction unit.

Abstract: A filter device for a vacuum cleaner having a turbine device and a motor. The vacuum cleaner includes two chambers and filter elements of the filter device are dedusted by an abrupt change in position of a dividing element in the chambers. Since, when one of the two chambers is being dedusted, the suction operation of the vacuum cleaner can be maintained through the other chamber, the filter dedusting can advantageously take place during continued suction operation of the vacuum cleaner. A method for dedusting a filter device in a vacuum cleaner, wherein, as a result of a valve being actuated, an air volume is driven out of one of the two chambers so that a dividing element is advantageously made to change position, and this can result in a backflushing pulse and mechanical shaking of the filter element, and dedusting of the filter device.

Abstract: A vacuum cleaner assembly configured to be mounted in a vehicle. The vacuum cleaner assembly includes a vacuum module and a collector module configured to collect debris and operatively coupled to the vacuum module. The collector module includes a canister assembly with an intake port, an output port, and a flapper valve coupled to the intake port. An elbow assembly couples the vacuum module to the collector module and includes an intake end attached to the output port of the canister assembly. The intake end has a foam section disposed on a grill insert. Upon removal of the canister assembly from the collector module, the flapper valve moves to a closed position over the intake port of the canister assembly to keep debris contained in the canister assembly, and the grill insert and the foam section remain in place in the intake end of the elbow assembly.

Abstract: A mobile cleaning robot includes a removable filter unit configured to receive a supply airflow generated by a blower and to filter debris from the supply airflow, a filter seat, a filter access opening, a filter access door, and a filter presence system. The filter access door is pivotable between a closed position, wherein the filter access door covers the filter access opening, and an open position, wherein the filter access door is displaced from the filter access opening to permit access to the filter seat. The filter presence system is configured to: permit the filter access door to move from the open position into the closed position when the filter unit is disposed in the filter seat; and prevent the filter access door from being moved into the closed position when the filter unit is not disposed in the filter seat. The filter presence system includes a lift arm movable between an extended position and a retracted position. When the filter access door is open, the lift arm assumes the extended position to receive the filter unit in the filter seat. Moving the filter access door from the open position into the closed position when the filter unit is disposed in the filter seat causes the lift arm to move to the retracted position.
