Abstract:
Disclosed embodiments provide a substrate that can be used to apply an oil-based seasoning mixture on to a cooking surface in order to season food and to prevent the food from burning at a variety of cooking temperatures. The substrate includes a felt that is constructed with a matted fabric. The felt allows for absorption of liquid solutions into the matted fabric and for the transfer of these liquid solutions from the matted fabric onto a cooking surface. The substrate further includes an oil-based seasoning mixture that is infused into the matted fabric of the felt. The oil-based seasoning mixture includes an oil that is selected based on its smoke point. Further, the oil-based seasoning mixture includes seasonings that are infused into the oil.
Abstract:
Food products prepared from whole grain oat flour having soluble components. The soluble whole oat flour maintains its standard of identity as whole grain and thus has the characteristics of whole grain oats. Aspects of the present invention relate to the use of the soluble oat flour in liquid food products such as beverages, semi-solid food products such as yogurt, and solid food products such as bakery items in order to provide enhanced health benefits.
Abstract:
An aqueous composition specifically adapted for supporting physical performance. The liquid composition comprises, consists of, or consists essentially of ribose, a saccharide such as glucose or dextrose, coenzyme Q10, ATP, caffeine, and D-pinitol in conjunction with minerals and electrolytes. The orally-consumed liquid composition may be sold as a shelf-stable ready-to-drink liquid, or as a liquid concentrate or in solid form, such as a powder, granulate, or tablet to be added to water or other fluid. The liquid composition physiologically enhances essential energy stores and provides a supply of ingredients which support physiological generation and regeneration of ATP.
Abstract:
A method of making a dry brining instrument includes inspecting a halite for use as a dry brining instrument to identify a defect in the halite, shaping the halite to a desired shape to form the dry brining instrument, wherein the desired shape is determined based on a food item in which the dry brining instrument will be at least partially inserted, polishing an exterior portion of the dry brining instrument, and heat treating the dry brining instrument according to a predetermined heating schedule, to strengthen the integrity of the dry brining instrument to temperature cycling through repeated use.
Abstract:
A method and an installation are provided for preserving desired seasoning flavour profiles during the manufacturing of food-seasoning sheets. The method includes the steps of; laying a thin layer of adhesive on a base sheet; removing air from the adhesive prior to the step of laying; reducing free moisture from the adhesive during the step of laying, and depositing food-seasoning ingredients onto the thin layer of adhesive. The installation for manufacturing food-seasoning sheets includes an adhesive dispenser having a reservoir and a delivery slot communicating with the reservoir for dispensing adhesive. The dispenser has a heating element mounted thereto for heating the adhesive. The adhesive is made under a partial vacuum and it is conveyed to the dispenser in a partial vacuum.
