摘要: The present invention provides a tomato-derived composition comprising lycopene crystals at a concentration of at least 70% (w/w) and methylene chloride-insoluble material at a concentration of 10% (w/w) or less, wherein the size of said lycopene crystals is less than 1 micron. The present invention also encompasses a process for preparing said composition from tomato pulp.

摘要: Methods and industrial scale set-ups for manufacturing spray-dried powders are provided. During the process, a solvent is used. The process is done batchwise such that the emulsification mass ratio is low when removal of the solvent is started. Preferred solvents are isopropyl acetate and ethyl acetate.

摘要: A beverage composition promotes cellular hydration when ingested by a multicellular organism, and includes a carbohydrate clathrate component that includes cyclodextrin, in a concentration of 0.01-5% w/w. A complex-forming compound is also included in a concentration that is less than the clathrate component, and there is an aqueous liquid component, such as still and carbonated aqueous liquids. An inclusion complex is formed with at least some of the clathrate component and at least some of the complex-forming compound and the composition promotes cellular hydration of the multicellular organism when the multicellular organism ingests it. There is also a beverage composition that increases lifespan in the multicellular organism, and methods of promoting cellular hydration and increasing lifespan of the multicellular organism according to a mechanism of action.

There is also a beverage composition that increases lifespan in the multicellular organism, and methods of promoting cellular hydration and increasing lifespan of the multicellular organism according to a mechanism of action.

摘要: A beverage containing a natural colorant and one or more components of an Indian gooseberry extract and having sufficient color photostability is described. The active component in the Indian gooseberry extract is at least one of tannic acid, chebulinic acid, chebulagic acid, and phyllemblin. The natural colorant is a carotenoid and/or an anthocyanin. When the natural colorant is beta-carotene, it is preferably provided in a form of microemulsion. The beverage further contains a preservative, such as benzoic acid, sorbic acid, and a salt thereof. A method of formulating the beverage is also described.
