Abstract: Methods of making orally available softgels includes pre-wetting a probiotic with an edible oil to produce a wetted supplement, wherein the edible oil is present in a range of 25% to 75% by weight of a total weight of the probiotic and edible oil, heating the wetted supplement to a temperature in a range of 35° C. to 40° C., blending the wetted supplement and a molten chocolate component together to produce a liquid fill material, encapsulating the liquid fill material in a softgel coating to produce an orally available softgel, and cooling the orally available softgel to have a softgel capsule shell comprising 5% to 15% by weight water. The fill material is a solid at room temperature in the cooled orally available softgel.

Abstract: The present invention is a suet making kit and method for forming suet plugs from a birdwatchers own customized suet mixture. With the instant invention suet plug manufacturing kit, suet mixtures may be shaped and sized to fit various cavity sizes and cavity shapes on a plurality of already existing different bird feeders. The kit provides the tools for making a feed suet plug of a predetermined shape, having a length dimension and a length-wise axis. The tools include a at least one ramrod having two pistons and a plurality of mold sets each having a cross-section with a substantially similar cross-section as a ramrod piston. A kit is selected so that the cross-sectional configuration of the feed suet plug made with the kit corresponds generally in size and shape to the cross-sectional configuration of the birdwatchers existing bird feeder.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a feed supplement and a feed containing this feed supplement, comprising 1) a homotrimer, heterotrimer, homotetramer and/or heterotetramer of a carbohydrate component selected from the group consisting of a pentose saccharide, a hexose saccharide, glucuronic and galacturonic acid, and 2) a medium-chain fatty acid (MCFA), selected from the group consisting of caproic acid (C6), caprylic (C8), capric (C10) and lauric acid (C12).
