A pressurizing method for pressurizing a second component arranged on a first component, against the first component by using a pressurizing apparatus having a stage on which the first component is mounted, a tool, and a protection sheet supplying section. The tool is disposed so as to face the stage and moved between a first position at which the tool faces the first and second components while spaced therefrom, and a second position at which the tool is biased toward the stage to pressurize the second component against the first component. When the tool is at the second position, the protection sheet supplying section supplies a protection sheet so that the protection sheet is placed between the second component and the tool.

A process for producing an olefin oligomer comprising polymerizing olefin having not less than 6 carbon atoms in the presence of a catalyst consisting essentially of (a) aluminum halide, (b) polyhydric alcohol derivative of which alcohol the hydrogen atoms of the entire hydroxyl groups are substituted with either one or both of alkyl and acyl groups and (c) a nickel compound or cobalt compound is provided. Thus, an olefin oligomer having a narrow distribution of the polymerization degree and good properties can be obtained with a high selectivity by using a catalyst capable of being easily handled.

A linear-circular polarizer used for the transmission in the microwave band, which provides excellent impedance characteristics and stabilized cross polarization characteristics by having 1/4 wavelength phase plates and the inner surface of a circular waveguide made in one-piece for the purpose of cost and production step reduction. The linear-circular polarizer includes a pair of 1/4 wavelength phase plates of a specified width and height formed opposite to each other and symmetric with respect to the waveguides central axis. The 1/4 wavelength phase plates are formed on the inner surface of a circular waveguide at a closed end opposite to an end where a primary radiator is located.

A shielded electric connector comprises contact pins each of which includes a contact portion on one end thereof for coming into contact with a mating contact piece, and a joint portion on the other end thereof for connecting an electric wire to be connected, an insulating housing in which the contact pins are disposed and held, a shield hood member which includes a front envelope that encloses the contact pins disposed and held in the insulating housing and a rear envelope that is formed so as to be continuous to and unitary with the front envelope, the hood member having open on only one side and formed with an electric wire lead-out portion, a shield lid member adapted to be coupled to the shield hood member in a manner to close the opening of the shield hood member, and a shield connection part adapted to be connected to a shield layer of the electric wires. A method of connecting electric wires to such shielded electric connector is also disclosed.

A circular-linear polarizer includes a waveguide and a one quarter wave length plate which is installed on the inside wall of the waveguide. The surfaces of the waveguide and the one-quarter wave length plate forming the junction between them are flat. Alternatively, the one quarter wave length plate has a mounting surface for mounting on the inside wall of the waveguide. The mounting surface has a circular cross section which is complementary to the circular inside cross section of the waveguide. The junction provides improved electrical contact between the waveguide and the one-quarter wavelength plate. In addition, the cross polarization and axial ratio of the waveguide are improved while maintaining good impedance characteristics.

The feed-horn with helical antenna element of this invention comprises (1) a waveguide made of conductive cylinder having a step inside, the inner diameter in the vicinity of the opening face of the waveguide is larger than that of the base of the waveguide, and (2) a helical antenna element disposed at the base axial center of the waveguide. Introduction of the step-formed inside to the waveguide makes it possible to obtain excellent characteristics both of cross polarization and impedance.

A frequency converter is constituted by an unobstructed circular waveguide unit through one end of which received signals are fed thereto and conveying signals in the TE11 mode, a rectangular waveguide unit having a rectangular waveguide microstrip line converter unit in its output end and conveying signals in the TE10 mode, a circular-rectangular waveguide converter unit connecting the output end of the circular waveguide unit and the rectangular waveguide unit to convert the mode of transmission of signals from the TE11 mode in the circular waveguide unit to a principal transmission mode TE10 in the rectangular waveguide unit, and a microwave integrated circuit extending in the direction of and being on the H-wall side of the circular-rectangular waveguide converter unit and the rectangular waveguide unit and connected to the rectangular waveguide-microstrip line converter unit for processing the received signals and delivering the received signals as signals of an intermediate frequency. The diameter of the circular waveguide unit is such as to cause the cutoff frequency of the circular waveguide unit to be lower than the frequency of the received signal and higher than the local oscillation frequency for causing the circular waveguide unit to function as a high pass filter, and the axis of the rectangular waveguide unit is offset relative to that of the circular waveguide unit in the direction parallel to the shorter side of the rectangular waveguide unit and toward the wall along which the microwave integrated circuit is positioned.
