    Abstract: A projectile includes a stabilizing band mounted on a rear projectile portion and having a folded state and a deployed state and a fuze assembly accommodated in the projectile. The fuze assembly includes a firing pin carrier supported for motion parallel to the longitudinal axis of the projectile; a firing pin secured to the firing pin carrier; a slide supported for motion transversely to the projectile axis and having a safety position and a firing position; and a detonator mounted on the slide. The detonator is out of alignment with the firing pin in the safety position of the slide and is in alignment with the firing pin in the firing position of the slide. A force-transmitting component is attached to the stabilizing band and the slide for moving the slide from the safety position into the firing position by a force generated by a motion of the stabilizing band from its folded state into its deployed state.

    Abstract: A method for transforming a fuzzy logic system into a neural network, where, in order to simulate membership functions, sigmoid functions are linked together in such a way that, even after the optimization of the neural network, back-transformation of the neural network into a, fuzzy logic system is possible. The advantage of the method described is that a fuzzy logic system can be transformed, in particular component by component, into a neural network and the latter can then be optimized as a whole, i.e. all the components together.     Abstract: Machine for applying labels to cylindrical containers such as metal cans wherein labels on a vacuum drum and/or containers on a turret have an adhesive applied thereto and each label is attached to a container and is wrapped around the container by rotating the container. The containers are supplied by a rotary turret and are rotated with the turret from an entry point to an exit point between which the labels are applied. Each container, in addition to its planetary motion about the turret axis, is rotated about its own axis to speed up the application of labels. The capacity of a machine is thereby increased because the containers can be packed closer together without interference between label attached to one container but not yet wrapped around the container being interfered with by the next container.

    Abstract: An accumulator system for establishing a clamping force on dies in a closed die forging device. The accumulator system includes an accumulator having a differential piston and a free piston. The small end of the differential piston forms a wall of the accumulator oil chamber hydraulically connected to variable volume oil chambers behind the dies. The big end of the differential piston and one side of the free piston form a low pressure gas chamber of the accumulator. The other side of the free piston forms a wall of a high pressure gas chamber of the accumulator. As the dies of the forging apparatus close, oil in the chambers behind the dies moves the differential piston against only the gas pressure in the low pressure gas chamber so that closure is essentially without impact. Just before the onset of forging, the big end of the differential piston engages the free piston so that thereafter the two move as a unit against the higher gas pressure in the high pressure gas chamber of the accumulator whereby the clamping force on the dies increases at a higher rate.
