Abstract:
The present invention relates to leave-on compositions for personal care comprising trimethylsilylalkylsilsesquioxanes, particularly trimethylsilyl-n-octylsilsesquioxanes (Caprylyl Trimethicones). Said trimethylsilylalkylsilsesquioxanes are especially useful in formulating emulsions.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions comprising non-toxic and safe for human contact and ingestion volatile or non-volatile silicone-aliphatic hydrocarbon hybrid fluids and a non-volatile silicone-aliphatic hydrocarbon hybrid wax which have the physical consistency of a gel which are of use in a wide variety of personal care applications and when applied to the human skin components within these compositions adsorb quickly into the upper layers of the status corneum, while other components form non-tacky occlusive films on the outer surface of the stratum corneum.
Abstract:
This invention relates to liquid rinse-off compositions for personal care comprising trimethylsilylalkylsilsesquioxanes, particularly trimethylsilyl-n-octylsilsesquioxanes (Caprylyl Trimethicones). Preferably the rinse-off compositions are shampoos containing pearlescent and/or opacifying agents.

Abstract:
A method for making high softening point linear and cyclic alkylsilicone waxes includes reacting a C30+ alpha olefin wax with a silicone hydride polymer in the presence of a catalyst. The high softening point linear and cyclic alkylsilicone waxes have softening points approximating those of natural waxes and, in consequence, can be used in applications which traditionally employ natural waxes.

Abstract:
A protective coating for organic substrates includes an emulsion having a branched trimethylsilylated alkylsilsesquioxane. The trimethylsilylated alkylsilsesquioxane has the formula: Me3SiO[R(Me3SiO)SiO]xSiMe3 wherein R is a substituted or unsubstituted linear or branched monovalent hydrocarbon substituent with from 6 to 14 carbon atoms, Me is Methyl, and x ranges from 1 to 6. Also disclosed is a method of rendering an organic surface repellent to water, dust and dirt by treating the organic surface with an effective amount of the foregoing emulsion. The organic surface being treated can be a rubber surface such as wires, cables, the sidewall of automotive tires, footwear, and coated fabrics. The surface can also be a synthetic plastic surface such as automotive dashboards, automotive trim (both interior and exterior), automotive upholstery, flooring, residential siding, and piping.
