    摘要: Disclosed is an adjustable apparatus for regulating the flow of fuel into a carburetor by use of a specially designed fuel metering rod. The hollow rod includes four different sets of holes along its sides at one end, each set separated from the adjacent sets by ninety degrees (90.degree.). The holes of each set are graduated from large to small, and each set covers a different range of hole sizes. The rod slides into a housing on the side of the carburetor, the holes regulating the amount of filtered fuel delivered to the carburetor. By sliding the rod, different sized holes on the rod line up with the exit opening in the housing to the carburetor. Sliding the rod also moves a linkage which causes the opening or closing of the air valves of the carburetor. The rod may be removed and rotated (either 90.degree., 180.degree. or 270.degree.) to allow a different set of holes to line up with the exit opening to the carburetor.

    摘要: A relatively low profile pneumatic jack comprising a bellows made from a flexible member having at least one convolution for lifting heavy objects, such as vehicles. The bellows is located between a lift member that abuts the object to be lifted and a base member which abuts the surface from which the object is being lifted (i.e., the ground). A top plate and a bottom plate connect to the bellows and the lift and base members to form an air-tight chamber within the bellows. An inlet valve is connected to the chamber to allow the introduction of pressurized air in the chamber. A valve assembly having safety systems therein to prevent overfilling of the jack is disposed between the supply of pressurized air and the inlet valve. A safety system inside the chamber further prevents overfilling of the jack.

    摘要: A composite suspension system for a vehicle includes a mechanical suspension system supporting the body of the vehicle with respect to an axle and a pneumatic suspension system to selectively provide support for the body relative to the axle. Under heavy loads, the pneumatic suspension system may be inflated to support the body relative to the axle. When not under heavy loads the pneumatic suspension system may be deflated so as not to interfere with the support provided by the mechanical suspension system. A control system regulates a compressor connected to the pneumatic suspension system to inflate the same. The control system also regulates access of the pneumatic suspension system to a vacuum source to deflate the same.

    摘要: A carburetor for connection to an internal combustion engine having a housing provided with a mixing passage for the flow of air to the engine; a throttle at the downstream end of the passage; a fuel spray bar extending transversely across the passage upstream of the throttle having transversely oppositely disposed fuel orifices facing the walls of the passage; a pair of venturi plates mounted for pivotal movement about individual axes upstream of the bar and spaced oppositely and transversely from the bar, the plates having distal ends and pivoting between closed, convergent positions in which the distal ends are adjacent to the bar and open positions in which the plates diverge from the bar, thereby defining an adjustable throat; a source of fuel; a conduit interconnecting the orifices and the source; a plunger-actuated valve in the conduit for controlling the flow of fuel from the source; a rotationally mounted cam adjacent to the valve having a cam surface in controlling relation with the valve; and a linkage connecting the plates and the cam for actuation of the valve concurrently with movement of the plates to regulate the air-fuel mixture in the passage.
