摘要： In a grooved drum with a working drum surface of metal consisting of a cylindrical inner drum on which at least one ribbon is helically wound, turn by turn, the radially outer boundary of which forms the working drum surface, the ribbon also forming axially extending circumferential grooves, adjacent turns of the ribbon are connected to each other in a form locking manner on their sides facing each other in the axial direction causing the adjoining turns to be immovably fixed relative to each other so that in the event of a break in the ribbon the turns will not give in to the circumferential tension force generated during winding and burst open.

摘要： In a roll for pressure treating webs of material comprising a stationary core which is surrounded by a rotatable hollow cylinder spaced from the core, and in which there are provided, between the core and the hollow cylinder, longitudinal seals and end seals which seal off a longitudinal chamber which extends between the core and the hollow cylinder on the side of the working gap and is filled with a pressure liquid, with discharge canals provided in the core for discharging leakage liquid from the space between the core and the hollow cylinder which remains between the core and the hollow cylinder on the side facing away from the working gap, an improved sealing arrangement, which includes a strip which extends along the hollow cylinder over the length of the longitudinal chamber following in the direction of rotation, the seal projecting at an angle from the core toward the longitudinal seal up to the inner circumference of the hollow cylinder and discharge canals opening in the region between the point where the strip is secured to the core and the longitudinal seal, is provided to reduce friction.

摘要： In a continuous press having two rotatably driven endless conveyor belts forming opposed, substantially linear spans defining a pressing zone with press platens applying pressure through the travelling spans to work carried therebetween with anti-friction roller means interposed between the platens and spans, the anti-friction roller means being endless loops of rotatably unpowered roller chains forming a bed interposed between the platens and the belt spans with the roller chain spans extending longitudinally with respect to the belt spans and being transversely packed together with each chain individually free to travel independently with respect to the others and the belt span wherein the chains are comprised of units of at least two equal diameter rollers installed in a cantilevered manner on roller pins, the roller pins being linked together by a chain of flat interposed links with adjacent rollers in the direction in which they run of the same length and having their outer end faces situated in a plane which forms the outer delimiting surface of the chain.

摘要： Pressure treatment apparatus for continuous web treatment includes a drum and a belt surrounding the drum almost completely with both drum and belt being movable with the web disposed in between. A pair of essentially semi-cylindrical sleeves are disposed about the belt as a supporting surface with a friction-reducing means, such as interconnected rollers, between the sleeves and belt to transfer force. The sleeve ends are spaced apart at two sides to permit passage of the web and belt while at the same time being urged together of both sides to impart a tensile force in the sleeve. This tensile force serves to exert a uniform pressure on the moving web substantially over the entire surface of the drum with the forces contained in a closed system and not loading the drum bearings.
