    摘要: The invention pertains to a method and apparatus for providing a continuous, uniform, diffuse lighting environment for use in conjunction with electronic machine vision, or manual microscope inspection systems to inspect specular surfaces such as soldered circuits, ball bearings, reflective packaging, relective packaging, etc. The disclosed invention effectively eliminates apparent variations in surface brightness caused by the reflection of discontinuities in traditional machine vision lighting systems that typically require windows or viewing openings or orifices to allow visual access to the object being observed, thus allowing for a true observation signal from which the effect of surface geometry has been substantially removed. The object being observed is illuminated using a diffuse lighting system that comprises, in combination, an on-observation axis diffuse light source and an off-observation axis light source each controlled under separate brightness control such that a substantially uniform diffuse lighting environment is created over the entire object.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for forming a conical or domed ring light having a plurality of light sources arranged at a desired angle with respect to an optical axis. Some of the dimensions of the illumination apparatus are first determined and, then using the appropriate formulas, the remaining dimensions of the circuit board are calculated. Thereafter, the calculated dimensions are employed to cut, from a planar flexible circuit board, the desired arcuate section(s). The light sources are then installed at desired locations on a first surface of the flexible circuit board and are each coupled to a common electrical connector, having one or a plurality of power sources, to facilitate supplying electrical power to each one of the light sources. The circuit board is then folded into a conical or domed configuration, with the light sources facing inward, and each abutted end and lateral surfaces of the folded circuit board is suitably secured or fastened to one another to permanently retain the flexible circuit board in its folded state.

The system also includes an inflatable acoustic chamber, which is attached to the guitar body frame along the guitar body frame peripheral rim member. The inflatable acoustic chamber includes a membrane communicating with the guitar body acoustic grill sections when the acoustic chamber is inflated.

    摘要: A surface marking system for providing a surface with a reflective marking for inspection by a vision system.     摘要: An imaging system for viewing indicia on an object to be observed in which the indicia comprises a plurality of either hard and/or soft marks. The light supplied by a light source is focussed by at least one lens and supplied toward an object to be observed and the reflected light is then focussed at a focal plane. The focal plane is located adjacent or coincident with a light receiving entrance of a camera or other imaging device. When a soft mark is imaged, the light is supplied at an angle to but not along the optical axis and is focussed by the lens to from an accurate image of the light source at the focal plane. Any light which contacts the unaltered specular reflective surface of the object to be observed as well as the central area of the soft mark facilitates a true and accurate reflection of the light source at the focal plane while the altered, non-flat areas of the object to be observed at least partially scatter or disperse the supplied light. Some of the scattered and dispersed light is received by the light receiving entrance and can be focussed and observed by the camera so that the indicia can be accurately perceived by the camera using conventional techniques. When imaging a hard mark, light is supplied by the light source along the optical axis. The supplied light which illuminates the hard mark is effectively absorbed by or reflected away from the optical axis and thus appears dark while the specular areas of the object to be observed are perceived by the camera as being bright.

    摘要: A compact device and method for asceptically filling containers eliminates the need for clean work stations. A small enclosure has an outlet opening adapted to fit over and surround the neck of a pre-sterilized bottle. Sterile pressurized gas is introduced into the enclosure which is contoured to force the gas to flow at high velocity through the outlet opening, thereby causing the gas to flow into the bottle and to form a curtain of sterile high velocity gas which surrounds the bottle neck and prevents entry of ambient air. While the gas continues to flow, the bottle is filled with sterile media which passes through enclosure and displaces sterile gas in the bottle while being protected from contamination by the sterile flowing curtain.
