    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a rotatable belt member, a plurality of image forming members opposing the belt in an image forming region, a first detecting member configured to detect a position of the belt member with respect to a widthwise direction, a second detecting member configured to detect a moving direction, an adjusting roller configured to adjust the moving direction in the image forming region, the adjusting roller configured to adjust the moving direction in the image forming region, and a control portion configured to control a position of the adjusting roller on the basis of outputs of the first detecting member and the second detecting member without changing a position of the belt member in the image forming region in a direction perpendicular to a surface of the belt member.

    Abstract: A vibration actuator includes an elastic body on which at least one projection is formed and a vibrating body including an electromechanical conversion device, and drives a driven member that is in contact with a contact portion of the projection by causing an end portion of the projection to perform an ellipsoidal movement in response to a combination of two vibration modes generated in the vibrating body when an alternating driving voltage is applied. The elastic body is formed integrally with the projection and a bonding portion between the projection and the electromechanical conversion device. A space is provided between the contact portion and the electromechanical conversion device to which the projection is bonded. The spring portion is provided between the bonding portion and the contact portion and causes the projection to exhibit a spring characteristic when the contact portion is pressed by the driven member.

    Abstract: The vehicle includes a vehicle body having a steering section and a drive section connected together; a steerable wheel which steers the vehicle body; a drive wheel which drives the vehicle body; an inclination actuator apparatus for inclining the steering section or the drive section in a turning direction; a plurality of sensors which detect lateral accelerations; yaw angular velocity detection means; vehicle speed detection means; and a control apparatus which controls the inclination of the vehicle body by controlling the inclination actuator apparatus. The control apparatus performs feedback control on the basis of the lateral accelerations, calculates a link angular velocity predicted value from the derivative value of the yaw angular velocity and the vehicle speed, and controls the inclination of the vehicle body by performing feedforward control while using the calculated link angular velocity predicted value.
