Abstract: A semiconductor device includes an intellectual property (IP) block, a clock management unit, a critical path monitor (CPM), and a CPM clock manager included in the clock management unit. The clock management unit is configured to receive a clock request signal, indicating whether the IP block requires a clock signal, from the IP block and perform clock gating for the IP block based on the received clock request signal. The CPM is configured to monitor the clock signal provided to the IP block to adjust at least one of a frequency of the clock signal provided to the IP block and a voltage supplied to the IP block. The CPM clock manager is configured to perform the clock gating for the CPM.

Abstract: A system on chip (SoC) includes a plurality of intellectual property (IP) blocks and a clock management unit (CMU) configured to perform clock gating on at least one of the IP blocks. The IP blocks and the CMU interface with one another using a full handshake method. The full handshake method may include at least one of the IP blocks sending a request signal to the CMU to begin providing a clock signal or to stop providing the clock signal, and the CMU sending an acknowledgement signal to the corresponding IP block in response to receipt of the request signal.

Abstract: A wireless mobile device for personalizing the control and IVI settings of a connected vehicle according to a seat position of a user of the mobile device. The wireless mobile device is configured to: i) receive a radio signal from each of a plurality of beacons in the vehicle; ii) determine a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) value for each received radio signal; iii) apply a seat prediction model M to the RSSI value for each received radio signal to predict a seat position P; and iv) transmit a predicted seat position P to a server. The seat prediction model M is generated by a machine learning process and stored in a server. A beacon array configuration, data collection and generalization procedure optimizes the coverage and accuracy of the model M. The wireless mobile device is further configured to receive an identification (ID) value of the vehicle. The wireless mobile device retrieves the seat prediction model M from the server and caches in memory in the wireless mobile device. Once the vehicle knows the in-vehicle seat position of a user, on-demand personalization will follow automatically. The personalization can be for vehicle controls, IVI head unit or backseat entertainment system, etc., according to user's in-vehicle seat position.

Abstract: A rotor having an improved structure capable of achieving an enhancement in durability and a motor having the rotor are disclosed. The rotor is configured to co-operate with a stator in an electromagnetic manner such that the rotor rotates. The rotor includes a sleeve having a shaft hole, through which the motor shaft extends, rotor cores spaced apart from one another in a circumferential direction of the rotor, and at least one of permanent magnets disposed between adjacent ones of the rotor cores such that the permanent magnets are arranged in a radial manner about the sleeve. First and second cover plates are disposed at opposite sides of the permanent magnets in an axial direction. The first and second cover plates have plate holes respectively corresponding to the through holes of the rotor cores.
