An exterior material for cooking appliance capable of improving durability, heat resistance, scratch resistance, and cleaning performance by forming a Silicon-Diamond like carbon (SiDLC) coating layer including silicon (Si) under a high-temperature environment, and a method for manufacturing the exterior material. The exterior material includes: a base material; and a SiDLC coating layer provided on the base material, wherein the SiDLC coating layer includes Si of about 1 weight % to 50 weight %, carbon (C), and other inevitable impurities.

The present disclosure provides an electronic device and methods for operating the electronic device. The electronic device may include: a housing having a coupling member removably attachable to an ear of a user; one or more microphones provided within the housing and configured to detect an external sound; at least one speaker provided within the housing; at least one communication circuit within the housing; a processor provided within the housing and electrically coupled to the one or more microphones, the at least one speaker, and the at least one communication circuit; and at least one memory provided within the housing, and electrically coupled to the processor. The memory may store instructions that cause, when executed, the processor to receive the detected external sound from the one or more microphones, to identify an direction of the external sound in relation to the user, to determine whether the direction of the external sound is within a predefined range, and to extract at least a portion of the external sound for further processing when the direction of the external sound is within the predefined range.

An electronic device for updating an avatar by reflecting user context information and an operation method thereof are provided. The electronic device includes: a camera; at least one sensor; memory storing at least one instruction; and at least one processor configured to execute the at least one instruction to: obtain user context information to be applied to an avatar from among pieces of user context information obtained via the at least one sensor, the camera, or one or more applications, set a privacy mode by determining whether to publicly disclose each piece of the obtained user context information for each of the one or more applications, update the avatar based on the set privacy mode, and provide an updated avatar via an application among the one or more applications being executed.

The variable gain amplifier including an amplifier, a first fixed resistor and a first variable resistor, a second fixed resistor and a second variable resistor, a third fixed resistor and a third variable resistor, a fourth fixed resistor and a fourth variable resistor, a first output terminal and a second output terminal, and a decoder may be provided. The decoder is configured to receive first control bits, generate second control bits from the first control bits, generate third and fourth control bits from the first or second control bits, respectively, transmit the first control bits and the third control bits to the third and fourth variable resistors to adjust resistance values, and transmit the second and fourth control bits to first and second variable resistors to adjust resistance values.
