    Abstract: A liquid crystal display includes: a substrate including a plurality of pixel areas; a thin film transistor disposed on the substrate; a pixel electrode connected with the thin film transistor; and a roof layer disposed facing the pixel electrode, wherein a plurality of microcavities are disposed between the pixel electrode and the roof layer, and a liquid crystal layer including liquid crystal molecules is disposed in the plurality of microcavities, and wherein each microcavity includes a first area and a second area partitioned by a liquid crystal injection hole formation area, and a first alignment layer in the first area and a second alignment layer in the second area are formed of different materials.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes: a first substrate including a first light blocking region, wherein a plurality of transistors are formed in the first light blocking region; a second substrate facing the first substrate, the second substrate including a common electrode disposed thereon; and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the first substrate includes: a data line disposed extending in a vertical direction; color filters, each of the color filters overlapping adjacent color filters to form a color filter overlapping portion in boundary regions of the color filters in a vertical direction; and a light blocking member disposed extending in a horizontal direction covering the first light blocking region, wherein the data line and the color filter overlapping portion are spaced apart from each other in a horizontal direction in a region where the light blocking member is formed.

    Abstract: A curved display device includes a thin film transistor display unit including a first insulation substrate; a common electrode display unit disposed opposite to the thin film transistor display unit and including a second insulation substrate; a liquid crystal layer disposed between the thin film transistor display unit and the common electrode display unit; and a plurality of color filters disposed on the first insulation substrate or the second insulation substrate, where each color filter includes an overlapping compensation region, which overlaps an adjacent color filter, and a non-overlapping region, which does not overlap the adjacent color filter, the overlapping compensation region defines a stepped region having a step height with the non-overlapping region.
