Abstract: A polarization film includes: a base substrate in which a folding axis and a stretched axis are defined; and a deformation portion located at an edge of the base substrate. The stretched axis forms an angle of less than about 45° with respect to the folding axis. The display device, in which a folding area at which a folding axis is located and a non-folding area neighboring the folding area are defined, includes a display panel; a first adhesive layer on the display panel; and a polarization film on the first adhesive layer, where a stretched axis is defined in the polarization film. An angle between the folding axis and the stretched axis is less than about 45°.

Abstract: A polarizing plate-cutting device including a laser beam generator configured to emit a laser beam, a scanner including a rotating mirror configured to reflect the laser beam emitted from the laser beam generator, and a housing accommodating the rotating mirror, a condenser lens configured to condense the laser beam reflected from the rotating mirror, and a mounting block onto which the laser beam condensed by the condenser lens is irradiated and to which a polarizing plate is mounted, wherein the mounting block is fixed with respect to the scanner while the polarizing plate is being cut, and wherein the polarizing plate includes a stacking of a base substrate and a polarizing layer, the base substrate being closer to the condenser lens than the polarizing layer, and a heat resistance of the polarizing layer being lower than that of the base substrate.

Abstract: In a method for manufacturing a display device, the method includes: providing a display panel divided into a cutting area and a body part surrounding the cutting area; attaching a dummy film on a bottom surface of the display panel; cutting the cutting area by irradiating laser light toward a cutting line defined as a boundary between the cutting area and the body part; irradiating the laser light to a groove line of the dummy film, which overlaps the cutting line, to define a groove in the dummy film along the groove line; and separating the dummy film from the body part.

A laser cutting method includes: preparing an object on a stage; cutting the object into a set shape by relatively moving and irradiating a laser beam along the set shape with respect to the object; and performing uniform heating compensation to reduce accumulation of thermal energy of the laser beam resulting from a change of speed at a shift point where a travelling direction of the laser beam with respect to the object changes.
