    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for a mobile satellite communications application that is aware of radio frequency (RF) exposure. An example method of wireless communication by a wireless device includes determining an RF exposure budget for one or more future transmissions in compliance with an RF exposure limit. The method further includes obtaining a size of a payload for a potential transmission. The method further includes determining transmission information based at least in part on the RF exposure budget and the size of the payload. The method further includes outputting the transmission information for a user of the wireless device.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for exception-robust time-averaged radio frequency (RF) exposure compliance continuity. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) generally includes transmitting a first signal at a first transmission power based on time-averaged RF exposure measurements over a time window and storing RF exposure information associated with the time window. The method may also include detecting that an exception event associated with the UE occurred and transmitting a second signal at a second transmission power based at least in part on the stored RF exposure information in response to the detection of the event.

    Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for operating a wireless device pursuant to RF exposure compliance are provided. An example method generally includes: when an RFECS1 of the wireless device is in an online state, controlling, via the RFECS1, at least one of one or more first radios associated with a first RAT or one or more second radios associated with a second RAT, in compliance with an RF exposure limit and based on at least one of first RF exposure information associated with the one or more first radios or second RF exposure information associated with the one or more second radios; and when the RFECS1 is unavailable, controlling, via a second RF exposure control scheme, the one or more second radios associated with the second RAT in compliance with the RF exposure limit and based on third RF exposure information associated with the one or more second radios.
