    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine, for a radio associated with the UE, an energy usage in a past transmit interval. The UE may determine, for the radio, a requested usage-aware energy reservation based at least in part on the energy usage in the past transmit interval. The UE may assign, for a next transmit interval, an energy budget limit for the radio based at least in part on the requested usage-aware energy reservation. The UE may transmit, via the radio, an uplink transmission based at least in part on the energy budget limit. Numerous other aspects are described.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for a mobile satellite communications application that is aware of radio frequency (RF) exposure. An example method of wireless communication by a wireless device includes determining an RF exposure budget for one or more future transmissions in compliance with an RF exposure limit. The method further includes obtaining a size of a payload for a potential transmission. The method further includes determining transmission information based at least in part on the RF exposure budget and the size of the payload.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support techniques for transmission power determination for radio frequency (RF) exposure compliance. A transmitting device, such as a user equipment (UE) may determine an uplink transmit power limit for a time window based on an RF limit and a duration of the time window. The device may use the power limit to determine an uplink transmit power based on a computed uplink transmission period for the time window that accounts for a time period during which the device is expected to actually transmit. The computed uplink transmission period may be based on one or more actual uplink transmission periods during one or more prior time windows, a predictive model, network signaling, or any combinations thereof. The device may transmit one or more uplink transmissions during the time window using the determined uplink transmit power.

    Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for beam selection in compliance with radio frequency (RF) exposure limits. A method that may be performed by a wireless device includes receiving, from another wireless device, a plurality of signals via a plurality of beams; measuring a received signal power for each of the beams, based on the received plurality of signals; determining a transmit power limit for each of the beams based at least in part on an RF exposure limit; determining an estimation of a signal quality at the other wireless device for each of the beams based at least in part the received signal powers and the transmit power limits; selecting one of the beams based on the estimations of the signal qualities for the beams; and transmitting a signal via the selected beam.
