    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A bandwidth reduced low-tier user equipment (UE) may receive a signal identifying a control resource set for the UE to monitor for control information scheduling communications between the UE and a base station, the control resource set comprising a plurality of control channel elements organized across more than three symbols and comprising one or more first resource element groups mapped to a first monitoring occasion and one or more second resource element groups mapped to a second monitoring occasion. The UE may receive, during the first monitoring occasion, at least a first portion of the control information on the one or more first resource element groups. The UE may receive, during the second monitoring occasion, at least a second portion of the control information on the one or more second resource element groups. The UE may communicate with the base station in accordance with the control information.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A relay node may determine a channel status for each of a plurality of downlink beamforming directions between a parent node and the relay node based at least in part on a downlink beamforming direction between the relay node and a child node. The relay node may transmit a report to the parent node indicating at least a subset of the channel statuses and an indication that a respective downlink beamforming direction of the plurality of downlink beamforming directions corresponds to a respective channel status in the subset of the channel statuses. The relay node may receive a grant from the parent node indicating a first downlink beamforming direction. The relay node may monitor for a downlink transmission from the parent node based at least in part on the grant and the first downlink beamforming direction.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a node may determine a first set of time-frequency resources, within a time duration, for full-duplex communications and a second set of time-frequency resources, within the time duration, for non-full-duplex communications.     Abstract: Port selection codebook enhancements are disclosed for spatial and frequency domain density (FDD) reciprocity. A base station may generate and signal a channel state information (CSI) report configuration including configuration of multiple CSI-reference signal (CSI-RS) port groups, wherein each group includes one or more CSI-RS ports, and each group is associated with one or more codebook subset restrictions (CBSRs). Using the configured restrictions of the CBSRs, served user equipments (UEs) may determine linear combination coefficient feedback based on channel measurements of selected port groups and signals the feedback to the base station. Once the base station receives the feedback it may then determine a hybrid CSI-RS codebook using both the configured CSI-RS port groups and the linear combination coefficients. The base station may then transmit downlink data encoded with a precoding matrix selected from the codebook. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which sequence groups, and sequence hopping patterns may be used to distinguish concurrent non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) transmissions. A wireless device, such as a user equipment (UE), may identify, for a message, a first transmission opportunity from a plurality of transmission opportunities associated with grant-free uplink contention-based transmissions (e.g., NOMA transmissions); select a multiple access (MA) signature sequence from a group of MA signature sequences associated with the first transmission opportunity; identify a hopping pattern associated with the MA signature sequence; and transmit one or more redundancy versions of the message in one or more of the plurality of transmission opportunities comprising the first transmission opportunity according to the MA signature sequence and the hopping pattern.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, configuration information indicating that the UE is to compress a precoding matrix indicator in connection with channel state information reporting, wherein the precoding matrix indicator is to be compressed based at least in part on a quantization dependency between transmission layers or an orthogonality relationship between the transmission layers, and wherein the configuration information is associated with a type II, higher rank codebook for multiple input multiple output configuration. The UE may transmit, to a base station (BS), the compressed precoding matrix indicator to the base station based at least in part on receiving the configuration information. The UE and BS may use a communication configuration based at least in part on a precoding matrix indicator recovered from the compressed precoding matrix indicator.
