Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to receiving, from a network node, a first transmission for configuring a configured grant, wherein the configured grant allocates one or more resources associated with an uplink transmission process having a transmission process identifier, obtaining a first indication that the network node uses a fallback downlink control information (DCI) format, and modifying, based at least in part on obtaining the first indication and the transmission process identifier, the uplink transmission process. Upon determining the set(s) of resources, the satellite may transmit an indication of the set(s) of resources to a user terminal.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which UEs may communicate with satellites and base stations or gateways in a non-terrestrial network (NTN). Due to the large distances between transmitting devices and receiving devices in a NTN, timing adjustments to account for propagation delay communications links via a satellite may include a propagation delay between a UE and a satellite, a propagation delay between a base station and a satellite, as well as a variation in the propagation delays due to movement of the satellite. In accordance with various techniques discussed herein, a UE may account for variation in propagation delay, in addition to determined propagation delay, when determining an uplink timing for uplink communications via a satellite.

Abstract: Aspects are provided which allow coverage enhancement and support in NTNs for repetition, frequency hopping, and antenna switching during msgA transmissions based on a preamble-to-PO mapping. In one aspect, the base station provides and the UE obtains a RACH configuration associating a preamble with at least one PO for two-step random access, where the PO spans a time interval greater than one slot. In another aspect, the base station provides and the UE obtains a RACH configuration associating a preamble with a plurality of POs for two-step random access. In a further aspect, the base station provides the UE a plurality of configurations each indicating a PO for two-step random access. In an additional aspect, the base station provides the UE a configuration indicating a guard band for a PO for two-step random access, where the guard band is indicated in units of subcarriers spanning less than one PRB.

A non-terrestrial network (NTN) device (e.g., a satellite, base station) may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), at a first frequency a synchronization signal block (SSB) that indicates a second frequency of a control resource set (CORESET) relative to the SSB, where the second frequency is based on one or more of: a CORESET bandwidth, a combination of a first parameter associated with a first portion of the SSB and a second parameter associated with a second portion of the SSB, or both. The UE may monitor the CORESET at the indicated second frequency for a downlink control channel transmission. The NTN device may transmit, to the UE, a downlink control channel transmission over the CORESET. The NTN device may transmit, to the UE, system information based on the downlink control channel transmission.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message from a base station including a configuration for communicating with the base station, and the base station may transmit an RRC reconfiguration complete message to the base station (e.g., in response to the RRC reconfiguration message). The UE may then apply the configuration in the RRC reconfiguration message for communicating with the base station after transmitting the RRC reconfiguration complete message. That is, the UE may delay application of the configuration in the RRC reconfiguration message until after the UE transmits the RRC reconfiguration complete message. Using these techniques, ambiguity between the base station and the UE on when the configuration is applied by the UE may be minimized, resulting in improved throughput and reduced latency in a wireless communications system.

A user equipment (UE) may determine an inactivity timer associated with a first set of one or more beams used for communicating with a network entity associated with a satellite has expired. The UE may identify location information corresponding to the location of the UE with respect to the network entity. The UE may identify beam geometry information for one or more beams associated with the network entity. For example, the UE may receive the beam geometry information from the network entity. The UE may process the location information and the beam geometry information to identify a second set of one or more beams, the second set different than the first set. The UE and the network entity may communicate according to the second set of one or more beams.
