Abstract:
In High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) communications in a Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) system (called TD-HSDPA), the payload of two High-Speed Shared Information Channels (HS-SICHs) may be bundled into one HS-SICH channel by reusing the unused uplink synchronization shift (SS) for power control purposes. Thus, the HS-SICH spreading factor (SF) 16 code channel overhead may be reduced by 50%.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and systems embodiments enable recovering from an out-of-service state in a wireless device. A processor may perform scans of first and second acquisition databases to acquire a first renewed service connection for a first subscriber identification module (SIM). The scans include first and second searches for first channels identified in first and second technology lists, respectively, from the first and second acquisition database, respectively, until either a renewed service connection is acquired or each of the first and second technology lists are exhausted. The first and second technology lists identify channels from a most recently used radio access technology of the respective acquisition databases. The processor may perform a full frequency scan to acquire a first renewed service connection for the first SIM in response to determining that each of the first and second technology lists were exhausted.
Abstract:
Apparatuses and methods for a wireless communication device having a first Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) and a second SIM to manage communication via the first SIM and the second SIM are disclosed. The method can include, but is not limited to, sending a first message including an indication of an extended signaling capability, receiving a second message including an inquiry regarding the extended signaling capability, and sending a third message including extended capability information, responsive to receiving the second message.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus determines an interference type between a time division duplex (TDD) configuration subframe of a serving cell and a corresponding TDD configuration subframe of a neighboring cell, and sets a transmit power for an apparatus in the serving cell based on the interference type. The apparatus in the serving cell may be a user equipment (UE), in which case the apparatus applies a set of uplink (UL) open loop power control parameters for the UE. The apparatus in the serving cell may be a base station (eNB), in which case a DL transmit power is set for the eNB. Depending on the interference type, the DL transmit power may be a fixed, full power DL transmission or an adjusted DL transmission.
Abstract:
A venue-cast system and method for providing and receiving venue level transmissions and services, including discovery of a venue specific transmission by receiving an overhead signal from a non-venue network, extracting information for receiving the venue specific transmission from the overhead signal, and tuning to receive the venue specific transmission based on the extracted information. The venue level transmission may be provided and received in a manner that does not prevent an access terminal from receiving a local area or wide area transmission.

Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus groups subframes of a time division duplex (TDD) configuration of a serving cell into a set of anchor subframes and a set of non-anchor subframes. The apparatus also separately bundles positive acknowledgements (ACKs) and/or negative acknowledgements (NACKs) of the anchor subframes, and ACKs and/or NACKs of the non-anchor subframes.
Abstract:
A method, a computer program product, and an apparatus for separating a cell cluster to two or more cell clusters are provided. The cell cluster may be separated into two or more cell clusters in order to mitigate interference between cells while allowing for TDD subframe configuration flexibility. The method identifies at least one separating cell in a cell cluster, the cell cluster including at least two cells having a common TDD subframe configuration, where a coupling loss between one cell in the cell cluster and at least another cell in the cell cluster is lower than a predefined threshold. The method separates the cell cluster based on the at least one separating cell into at least a first cell cluster and a second cell cluster and sets a first TDD subframe configuration for the first cell cluster and a second TDD subframe configuration for the second cell cluster.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure propose techniques for power control for high-efficiency scheduling for Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA). The basic principle of this power control for a scheduled Enhanced Dedicated Channel (E-DCH) Physical Uplink Channel (E-PUCH) is that all information for a transport block size (TBS) decision is made available at a user equipment (UE). Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communications. The method generally includes receiving, from a UE, an uplink signal, determining a reference uplink power level based on a filtered interference power of the received signal, and transmitting an indication of the reference uplink power level to the UE.
