Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for a configurable mode for a response to random access message. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving an indication from a base station (BS) that the BS operates according to a first mode in which the BS unicasts a RACH response during a two-step RACH procedure or a second mode in which the BS multicasts the RACH response. The RACH response includes a PDCCH and PDSCH. The UE sends a RACH message to the BS comprising a preamble and payload. The UE monitors and decodes the PDCCH of the RACH response based on the indicated first mode or second mode. The UE decodes the PDSCH of the RACH response and sends feedback to the BS based on the indicated first mode or second mode.

Abstract: A configuration for multiple UEs having the same RA-RNTI to generate RA-RNTI for RACH procedures. The apparatus transmits a random access message. The apparatus receives a RAR during a RAR window in response to the random access message. The RAR window spanning at least two system frames. The apparatus determines one or more RA-RNTIs. Each RA-RNTI may be based, at least in part, on a random access channel occasion and type of random access procedure. The apparatus decodes the RAR based on the one or more RA-RNTIs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may receive one or more service data units (SDUs) at a layer two (L2) layer of the transmitting device. The transmitting device may encode, at the L2 layer, the one or more SDUs according to one or more network coding parameters to obtain at least one encoded protocol data unit (PDU), the one or more network coding parameters comprising a rateless code. The transmitting device may generate, for the at least one encoded PDU, at least one corresponding PDU header. The transmitting device may output the at least one encoded PDU and the at least one corresponding PDU header from the L2 layer to a lower layer of the transmitting device for transmission to one or more receiving devices.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive system information indicating a first set of resources allocated for transmission of random access messages and a second set of resources for requesting on-demand signaling. The UE may transmit a random access message via the first set of resources, and may transmit a request for on-demand signaling via the second set of resources. Upon receiving the random access message, a network entity may transmit a random access response (RAR) indicating a third set of resources allocated for reception of random access messages. Upon receiving the request, the network entity may transmit an indication of a fourth set of resources allocated for transmission of the on-demand signaling. Accordingly, the UE may retransmit the random access message via the third set of resources, and may receive the on-demand signaling via the fourth set of resources.

Abstract: An apparatus, such as a base station, may determine channel conditions associated with at least two carriers on which communication with another apparatus is configured. The apparatus may encode a dataset into a set of protocol data units (PDUs) using fountain coding based on the channel conditions. The apparatus may send a first subset of the set of PDUs to the other apparatus on a first carrier of the at least two carriers. The apparatus may send a second subset of the set of PDUs to the other apparatus on a second carrier of the at least two carriers. Another apparatus, such as a user equipment (UE), may receive the set of PDUs from the apparatus over the at least two carriers, and may decode the set of PDUs to obtain a dataset using fountain coding.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for performing random access procedures based on two-step random access channel procedures and four-step random access channel procedures are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a User Equipment (UE) includes determining that a fallback timer associated with a two-step random access procedure is configured for the UE. The example method also includes generating a random access message based at least on the determining. Abstract: In an embodiment, a base station determines a spatial relationship for a group of PUCCH resources, and transmits a control message that indicates the spatial relationship to a UE. The UE receives the control message and stores an indication of the spatial relationship. In some designs, the control message conveying the spatial relationship identifies the group of PUCCH resources via the PUCCH group index, while in other designs a different identification mechanism may be used. In another embodiment, a base station determines an association between a group of PUCCH resources and a PUCCH group index, and transmits a control message that indicates the association to a UE. The UE receives the control message and stores an indication of the association.

Abstract: Aspects for MAC CE configurations for beam failure recovery operations are disclosed. In one aspect, a method of wireless communication comprising: determining, by a user equipment (UE), a beam failure recovery for a serving cell; transmitting, by the UE, a beam failure recovery request for the serving cell; and transmitting, by the UE, a MAC CE including new beam information and including serving cell identification information multiple serving cells, including the serving cell, wherein the serving cell identification information identifies the multiple serving cells. In another aspect, the MAC CE may include bandwidth part information. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.
