    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure propose techniques for power control for high-efficiency scheduling for Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA). The basic principle of this power control for a scheduled Enhanced Dedicated Channel (E-DCH) Physical Uplink Channel (E-PUCH) is that all information for a transport block size (TBS) decision is made available at a user equipment (UE). Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communications. The method generally includes receiving, from a UE, an uplink signal, determining a reference uplink power level based on a filtered interference power of the received signal, and transmitting an indication of the reference uplink power level to the UE.
