Abstract: A pneumatic tire in which, in employing as an air-impermeable layer a film formed of a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer component obtained by blending a thermoplastic resin with an elastomer, separation of the film during tire production is prevented; and a process for producing the same. Abstract: A pneumatic tire and a process for manufacturing the same which enable, in the use of a film of a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composition obtained by blending an elastomer in a thermoplastic resin as an air permeation preventive layer, formation of the air permeation preventive layer excelling in gas barrier performance, and molding of the tire through a simple molding operation without generating any unnecessary scraps. For the pneumatic tire of the present invention, a cylindrical molded article composed of a film of a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composition obtained by blending an elastomer in a thermoplastic resin is crushed into a sheet-like laminate; and the sheet-like laminate is used as the air permeation preventive layer. In the manufacturing operation, the sheet-like laminate is wrapped around a making drum so that an unvulcanized tire having the sheet-like laminate as an air permeation preventive layer is molded, and the unvulcanized tire is vulcanized.

Abstract: Provided is a manufacturing method for a pneumatic tire including the steps of: shaping a cylindrical film formed of a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composite in which a thermoplastic resin is blended with an elastomer, folding the film into a sheet shape, laminating rubber layers on both surfaces of the folded film, opening the laminate of the film and the rubber layers into a cylindrical shape, fitting the laminate thus opened on a tire making drum, forming the tire pneumatic tire including the film as an air permeation preventing layer, and curing the uncured tire. In the method, when the rubber layers are laminated on the both surfaces of the folded film, positions of the rubber layers in a width direction are displaced from each other such that an end portion of one of the rubber layers is arranged to protrude from an end portion of the film and an end portion of the other one of the rubber layer is arranged on an inner side, in the width direction, of the protruding end portion of the one of the rubber layers, and the protruding end portion of the one of the rubber layers is caused to cover the end portion of the other one of the rubber layers in a state where the laminate is fitted on the tire making drum. By employing the manufacturing method for the pneumatic tire, troubles due to a splice portion of the rubber layers can be reduced.
