The six selective couplers may include three clutches and three brakes.

    摘要: A method and system which provides communication between a first portable device and a second portable device. The first portable device stores a first sequence number and a first key, and the second portable device stores a second sequence number and a second key. Verification is performed using the first and second keys. The first sequence number is compared to the second sequence number. If the second sequence number is newer than the first sequence number, the first sequence number is set to have a value of the second sequence number if the verification succeeds. If the first sequence number is newer than the second sequence number, the second sequence number is set to have a value of the first sequence number if verification succeeds.

    摘要: A method for facilitating multimedia streaming using server-side playlists comprises a plurality of operations. An operation is performed for streaming current playlist selection data from a server that supports server-side playlists to a client having a jitter buffer. An operation is performed for receiving at the server a request for streaming multimedia content corresponding to a different playlist selection. An operation is performed for communicating client-server specification information between the server and the client for enabling the different playlist selection data to be streamed from the server to the client at a data transfer rate greater than a maximum data presentation rate. The operation for communicating client-server specification information includes transmitting from the server for reception by the client information acknowledging that the server supports faster than real-time streaming and receiving at the server information designating a current size of the jitter buffer and a maximum data rate at which data is receivable by the client. The server performs an operation for streaming the different playlist selection data from the server for reception by the client after the operation for communicating client-server specification information is performed. The different playlist selection data is streamed at a data transfer rate greater than the maximum data transfer rate at which data is outputable from the jitter buffer.

    摘要: A scheme for retrieving digital multimedia content from a network node. A message is provided to the network node by a client application executing on a digital multimedia device, wherein the message includes a multidimensional pointer to a depository of digital multimedia content associated with the network node as well as a timing parameter operable to indicate when the message is to take effect. The multidimensional pointer contains a relative time offset variable as well as a plurality of media identifier dimensions corresponding to a plurality of nested hierarchical levels into which the digital multimedia content is organized. Responsive to the message, content from a particular content source identified by the multidimensional pointer is streamed to the digital multimedia device at a time indicated responsive to the timing parameter.

    摘要: A bi-directional, out-of-plane electrostatic comb drive apparatus including two electrically independent sets of stator comb tines; and a method for fabricating an out-of-plane comb drive with stacked sets of stator comb tines. A first set of stator comb tines is offset from a second set of stator comb tines. A set of rotor comb tines interleaves with both sets of stator comb tines. A first voltage applied to the first set of stator comb tines operates to pull the rotor tines toward the first set of stator comb tines. A second voltage applied to the second set of stator comb tines operates to pull the rotor tines toward the second set of stator comb tines, enabling bi-directional operation. A fabrication method is disclosed that enables fabrication of the first and second sets of stator comb tines that are mechanically and electrically independent and interleaved by the rotor comb tines.

    摘要: The present invention generally relates to a method and an apparatus for selectively isolating a portion of a wellbore. In one aspect, an apparatus for isolating a zone in a wellbore is provided. The apparatus includes a body having a bore. The apparatus further includes a first flapper member and a second flapper member, each flapper member selectively rotatable between an open position and a closed position. Additionally, the apparatus includes a flapper latch assembly disposed in the bore, the flapper latch assembly movable between an unlocked position and a locked position, wherein the flapper latch assembly is configured to hold the first flapper member in the closed position when the flapper latch assembly is in the locked position. In another aspect, a method for selectively isolating a zone in a wellbore is provided. In yet a further aspect, a flapper latch assembly for use with a flapper valve is provided.

    摘要: A powertrain has an electrically variable hybrid transmission having an electro-hydraulic control system, plurality of electrical power units, and a plurality of torque transmitting mechanisms selectively engageable by the electro-hydraulic control system to provide four forward speed ranges, a neutral condition, an electric low and high speed mode, and an electrically variable low and high speed mode. Additionally, the electrically variable hybrid transmission provides a parallel reverse mode and a series reverse mode. The present invention provides an improved electro-hydraulic control system having a multiplexed electronic transmission range selection (ETRS) and reverse dog clutch system for an electrically variable hybrid transmission. The multiplexed control system of the present invention allows effective control of both the ETRS system and reverse dog clutch system using only one solenoid valve.
