Abstract:
A method and apparatus for generating and retrieving information that is associated with a victim is provided herein. During operation, a medic will provide a picture of a victim's face to a server along with the information associated with the diagnosis and/or treatment of the victim. At a future time, if a second medic wishes to retrieve the information associated with the victim, the second medic will again provide a picture of the victim's face to the server. In response, the server will provide the information to the second medic.
Abstract:
A method for handling an overload state in a public safety answering point (PSAP) is provided. While an overload state is not detected at a call routing computing device received emergency calls are queued for a human operator. Responsive to detecting an overload state, first identifying those calls initiated from mobile devices capable of communicating via text message and transmitting a text message requesting callers to respond via text identifying the matter of the emergency call. The responsive text messages are classified as one of a verified emergency call and a verified non-emergency call to be returned when the overload is no longer detected. For each verified emergency call the call is queued for answer by a human operator. For each verified non-emergency call, a follow up text message is transmitted indicating that the verified non-emergency call will be returned at a later time.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for a predictive response-generation service to facilitate timely compliance with information-disclosure laws. When an event associated with an electronic data collection is detected, a set of features is extracted for the electronic data collection. The features are input into a machine-learning model to generate a request-prediction score. If the probability of receiving a request for data in the electronic data collection meets a threshold, a redaction operation specified by a redaction policy is executed on the electronic data collection to generate a modified electronic data collection. The modified electronic data collection, which is a redacted version of the electronic data collection, is transmitted to a digital response repository.
Abstract:
A method for managing intangible shopping transactions in a physical retail store is provided. The method may include monitoring a customer shopping within a physical retail store to detect occurrence of an intangible transaction. The method may also include determining that the intangible transaction has occurred. The method may further include storing a record of a transaction item associated with the intangible transaction, the record associated with the customer. The method may additionally include determining the customer is attempting to leave the physical retail store while not in possession of the transaction item. The method may also include providing an alert to indicate the customer is attempting to leave the physical retail store while not in possession of the transaction item.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for PTT over IoT is described herein. During operation, each IoT device will be assigned to a talkgroup. Some talkgroups may have a single IoT device assigned, and other talkgroups may have multiple IoT devices assigned. During operation, a control command is received over a first talkgroup that is used to control a first IoT device assigned to that talkgroup. Prior to executing the control command, a set of secondary IoT devices will be determined based on a task assigned to the officer. The secondary IoT devices will be accessed to determine their statuses. The status of the secondary IoT devices will be used as a trigger as to whether or not to allow the control command to be sent to the first IoT device.
Abstract:
A method and computer program for providing a computer aided dispatcher comprising receiving, by a public safety answering point, a plurality of emergency short message service (SMS) messages from one or more citizens over a wireless communication network, each emergency SMS message including a mobile terminal identifier, displaying each emergency SMS message in one or more display dialogue windows, receiving a command to highlight a portion of at least one of the emergency SMS message, storing the highlighted portion into one or more buffers, the highlighted portion being all or less than all of the emergency SMS message and receiving a command to associate the highlighted portion to one of a plurality of context fields in an emergency incident information report, the associated highlighted portion, selected context field and mobile terminal identifier stored in memory.
