    摘要: The present crankshaft milling machine comprises at least one milling slide in which the drive spindle is rotatably supported. A milling tool with axially spaced disk cutters is also rotatably supported in the milling slide and operatively connectable, for example, by a clutch, to the drive spindle. One support bearing of the milling tool is constructed as an axial thrust bearing. The clutch between the milling tool and the drive spindle is constructed to transmit torque moments and it is unable to transmit axially effective forces or loads. The clutch and divided bearing shells permit the exchange of the milling tool including the arbor carrying the cutters as a unit.

    摘要: A method for machining surfaces of revolution at workpieces comprises the eps of: rotating the workpiece during machining; roughing the workpiece with a disk-shaped tool having at its circumferential edge cutting elements with cutting edges; and, for finishing the workpiece, plunge-cutting by turning the workpiece with the disk-shaped tool, wherein the step of plunge-cutting by turning is divided into a sequence of individual plunge-cutting by turning steps so that material of overlapping portions of the workpiece is removed sequentially. The tool comprises a disk-shaped base body with a circumferential edge and a first set and a second set of cutting elements that are connected to and distributed over the circumferential edge of the disk-shaped base body. The first set is used in the roughing process, and the second set is used in the finishing process by plunge-cutting by turning. The cutting elements of the second set are spaced at a distance from one another in the circumferential direction of the tool and axially staggered such that, when viewed in the circumferential direction, the working areas of the cutting elements overlap.

    摘要: During machining of workpieces, particularly crankshafts, in a central ren of the workpiece, both tips at opposite unmachined ends are axially retracted from the workpiece; both machined ends of the workpiece are clamped centered with the radial clamping members. During the machining of one workpiece end, the workpiece is clamped equalized at the oppositely located end and during the machining of the central region is clamped centered at this end. A workpiece after end machining and before machining of the central region is relieved for elimination of existing axial tensile-strength pressure stresses. Before the machining of the central region there is applied an axial tensile-strength stress upon the workpiece. Apparatus for carrying-out the method includes two oppositely located main spindles and chucks, which have radially and axially adjustable clamping elements and having two oppositely located centering tips, which are adjustable axially relative to the clamping elements respectively the chucks. One chuck has centering-clamping clamp elements and equalizing-clamping clamp elements which are radially adjustable independently of each other. The centering and the equalizing-clamping clamp elements are adjustable axially in common. One chuck is provided with a load-relief device which is provided with a piston-cylinder-unit. The one chuck for axial stress loading of the clamped workpiece is adjustable by engagement of the piston. The one chuck is a clamping-tong chuck arrangement.

    摘要: A center drive support for supporting a crankshaft during machining in a machining device comprises a rotatably drivable support member and a drive unit. The rotatably drivable support member has a carrier with at least two clamping elements with clamping ends. The clamping elements are displaceable between a clamping position and a release position for the crankshaft. The clamping elements clamp the crankshaft between their clamping ends. The drive unit is connected to the clamping elements for applying a required clamping force in the clamping position during rotation of the support member. The drive unit includes a clamping motor and a drive shaft connected to the clamping motor. It further includes a gear unit connected between the drive shaft and the carrier. The gear unit, during machining of the crankshaft in the clamping position, follows the rotation of the support member against the toque of the clamping motor.
