    摘要: The invention includes a clamping system for a workpiece on a measuring machine, with a multiple-jaw clamping chuck. A rotary drive rotates the multiple-jaw clamping chuck. The rotary drive includes a stator and a rotor. The multiple-jaw clamping chuck has a chuck body wherein the clamping jaws are radially movable for clamping a workpiece or loosening it from the clamping chuck, a flat spiral mounted rotating relative to the chuck body in positive engagement with the clamping jaws, and an outer rim rotating with respect to the stator. The flat spiral is firmly joined to the rotor of the rotary drive, but can turn relative to the chuck body in order to move the clamping jaws radially inward or outward. Using a coupling, a part of the clamping system can be secured so that the rotary drive takes on the function of adjusting the clamping jaws.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a chucking system. The body of the chucking system preferably houses cam plates which may be driven manually by an independent worm shaft, or hydraulically by a piston/gear rack in lieu of a worm shaft. A face plate preferably houses four master jaws. The jaws may be engaged to the cam plates by pins. The jaws may be moved inward and outward preferably by rotation of the cam plates due to the ascending/descending slope of the slots in the cam plates. Each set of two jaws may be driven independently of the other because of the two separate cam plate mechanisms. The top cam plate is preferably held concentrically to the bottom cam plate by a needle bearing. The entire cam plate may “sandwich” pivot on a center tube which may be anchored in the base of the body and the top face plate.

    摘要: A keyless chuck assembly for a hand-held drill includes a housing, three jaws for gripping a drill which is to be turned by the drill chuck assembly. The jaws are retained in the assembly and confined to radial motion with respect to the drive shaft by means of T-shaped guide slots in the bottom of the drive shaft and cooperating T-shaped ribs on the tops of the jaws. The jaws have a gripping surface and a cam surface. A rotatable adjusting ring engages the jaws to move them in the radial direction to secure and release the drill bit. The jaws can include a resilient material between the gripping surface and the cam surface to allow the chuck jaws to more securely grip the drill bit. A locking mechanism prevents rotation of the ring which would allow the jaws to open.
