Abstract: A beverage dispenser for carbonated beverages, such as draft beer and soda, includes a volumetric beverage flow rate controller in the form of a tubular restrictor or choker combined with a subsurface flow beverage dispensing nozzle assembly. The nozzle has a positive bottom shut-off moveable between open and closed positions for initiating and stopping flow into the container. At defined rates of serving speed, greater control over pour characteristics, particularly over foam formed on the top of the beverage, is achieved.

Abstract: A beverage dispenser for dispensing a carbonated beverage from a beverage source into a receptacle includes a housing defining an interior volume and having a first surface proximal to the beverage source and a second surface distal to the beverage source. The beverage dispenser further includes a conduit in fluid communication with the beverage source entering the first surface of the housing and terminating proximate the second surface of the housing. The dispenser also includes a multi-nodal flow rate controller disposed within the interior volume of said housing in contact with said conduit and a subsurface dispensing nozzle in fluid communication with the terminal end of the conduit. The flow through the conduit to the subsurface dispensing nozzle is compensated to maintain substantially hydraulic beverage flow within the conduit by adjusting the contact between the multi-nodal flow rate controller and the conduit.

Abstract: Continuous stream ratio blending of two or more liquids. Each stream flow is time synchronized to all others and turned on and off to dose precise ratios into a constant pressure streams combining chamber. Combined on-off flows constitute a net flow rate exceeding some maximum continuous flow demand for the blended liquids. Dosed streams are pumped from the streams combining chamber at a rate matching their inflow, then through a mixing element into a finished blend tank. Use of a constant pressure streams combining chamber feeding a mix pump allows decoupling of individual streams ratio dosing flows and pressures one from another and from the combined stream. Blended liquid is available on demand as a continuous stream from the level controlled finished blend tank. The level sensor automatically starts and stops blended flow into the tank. Streams flow can be stopped upon completion of any dose cycle.

Abstract: An apparatus for applying icing to baked goods of any shape, such as cakes, at a flow rate of icing of about 1 gallon per minute (US). The apparatus includes a positive displacement sanitary design gear pump which meets 3A sanitary standards, the pump having symmetrical displacement rotors; an icing reservoir mounted closely adjacent an intake port of the pump, structure for forcing the icing from the reservoir into the intake pump, and tubular discharge pathway extending from the pump to an icing dispensing nozzle assembly. The pathway includes a vertical rigid tubular portion, a relatively short flexible horizontal portion, and a fast-acting positive shut-off valve between the rigid and flexible portions. The icing dispensing nozzle is further provided with an icing flow on-off switch integrating high pressure pumping and the fast acting high pressure positive shut-off valve with the low pressure nozzle valve.
