Abstract: Methods and systems for managing vegetation include training a machine learning model based on an image of a training data region before a weather event, an image of the training data region after the weather event, and information regarding the weather event. A risk score is generated for a second region using the trained machine learning model based on an image of the second region and predicted weather information for the second region. The risk score is determined to indicate high-risk vegetation in the second region. A corrective action is performed to reduce the risk of vegetation in the second region.

Abstract: Systems and a method are provided. A system includes a set of power loss detecting and reporting apparatuses. Each of the power loss detecting and reporting apparatuses includes a power loss detection circuit for detecting a local power loss. Each of the power loss detecting and reporting apparatuses further includes a cellular transmitter for transmitting (i) a preloaded code indicative of a power loss location and (ii) a time stamped alarm, to a remote designee entity using a cellular network, responsive to a detection of the power loss. The set of apparatuses collectively provide an outage pattern and sequence for a plurality of supplied locations based on the preloaded code and the time stamped alarm.

The weighing station device includes a stall for the animal, a camera in the stall that is activated to capture a plurality of digital images of the animal when a presence of the animal is detected at the stall. A processor obtains the plurality of digital images from the camera, constructs a three-dimensional digital image of the animal from the plurality of digital images, determines a dimension of the animal from the three-dimensional digital image, and estimates the weight of the animal from the determined dimension and a model relating the dimension of the animal to the weight of the animal.

Abstract: A gas sensing device includes a dielectric substrate, a heater integrated into a first side of the substrate and an insulating dielectric formed over the heater. A gas sensing layer is formed on a second side of the substrate opposite the first side. Contacts are formed on the gas sensing substrate. A noble material is formed on a portion of the gas sensing layer between the contacts to act as an ionizing catalyst such that, upon heating to a temperature, adsorption of a specific gas changes electronic properties of the gas sensing layer to permit detection of the gas.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to an integrated sensing system that includes a movable orientation device configured to dynamically position the movable orientation device based on receiving an air-flow. A gas sensor is coupled to the movable orientation device. The gas sensor includes a recognition element configured to detect a chemical in a plume. The movable orientation device is configured to perform a synchronized sensing operation that includes, based at least in part on the movable orientation device receiving the air-flow, moving the movable orientation device to dynamically maintain a predetermined orientation of the movable orientation device relative to a direction of the air-flow. The predetermined orientation includes positioning the gas sensor in a path of the air-flow, wherein the air-flow is influencing the plume to move along the path such that the recognition element is exposed to the plume.

Abstract: Embodiments for controlling precipitation collection vessels to accurately and efficiently collect, measure, and aggregate precipitation accumulation data are disclosed. In one embodiment according to aspects of the present invention, a computer-implemented method includes collecting snow in a plurality of collection vessels by orienting an open end of each of the plurality of collection vessels perpendicularly to a direction of the wind based at least in part on a wind model. The computer-implemented method further includes measuring a snow level of the snow in each of the plurality of collection vessels to generate snow level data for each of the plurality of collection vessels. The computer-implemented method further includes aggregating the snow level data for each of the plurality of snow collection by assembling the snow accumulation data from each of the plurality of collection vessels.

The system further includes a hyperspectral imaging camera for capturing hyperspectral images of the electromagnetic radiation in an absence of and in a presence of an aerosol distribution. The system also includes a data processing system for determining at least one of a size, a vertical density distribution, and a shape of particles in the aerosol distribution based information derived using the hyperspectral images.
