    Abstract: In an approach to improve detecting and identifying objects through orbital synthetic aperture radar satellites, embodiments arrange an array of elements in a predetermined configuration, and process, by a threshold and signature analysis, detected peaks in processed image data. Further, embodiments generate a list of objects detections based on the processed peaks, and identify an object based on amplitude, polarization ration, and polarization phase difference. Additionally, embodiments, classify the identified object based on the generated list of objects, and output, by a user interface, a list of probable object detections with position coordinates and identifications based on the classified identified objects, wherein the list of probable objects are above or within a predetermine threshold of confidence.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus for monitoring a cell culture comprising a) one or more infrared sensors positioned adjacent to a cell culture, the one or more infrared sensors capable of recording an infrared heat signal from the cell culture; b) a power source in electrical communication with the one or more infrared sensors; c) a data storage and computation device configured to receive and analyze the infrared heat signal from the one or more infrared sensors; and d) a transmitter device in electrical communication with the storage and computation device; wherein the apparatus monitors the pattern of heat production in the cell culture. The present invention is also directed to methods for monitoring and analyzing the metabolic activity of cells using the above apparatus.

    Abstract: A water irrigation system is provided for irrigating a plurality of zones. The water irrigation system includes a set of acoustic pressure modulators for generating a set of modulated acoustic pressure signals that include an actuating pressure signal and a de-actuating pressure signal. The set of acoustic pressure modulators include different subsets. The different subsets control different ones of the plurality of zones by selectively providing the same or different ones of the actuating and de-actuating pressure signals to the different ones of the plurality of zones at any given time. The water irrigation system further includes a set of acoustically-reactive irrigating elements disposed in each of the plurality of zones, each including an acoustically-reactive oscillating disk based water emitter. The acoustically-reactive oscillating disk based water emitter is selectively actuated or de-actuated responsive to the actuating pressure signal and the de-actuating pressure signal, respectively.
