    Abstract: Technology for a next generation node B (gNB), operable for new radio (NR) unlicensed communication. The gNB can encode a discovery reference signal (DRS) in a single subframe. The DRS comprising a first synchronization signal (SS) block comprising a plurality of contiguous orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) symbols in the single subframe. The DRS comprising a second SS block comprising a plurality of contiguous OFDM symbols in the single subframe. The DRS comprising a plurality of additional OFDM symbols for an SS block in the single subframe. The gNB can send the DRS in the single subframe to a user equipment (UE). The gNB can have a memory interface configured to send to a memory the DRS.

The UE can identify a repetition number from the DCI, wherein the repetition number configures the UE to receive or transmit one or more of data and control channel information that is repeated, in the time domain, a selected number of times based on the repetition number. The UE can encode one or more of data or control information, for transmission to a next generation node B (gNB), based on the TBS scaling factor and the repetition number.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), an Evolved Node-B (eNB), and methods for communication of uplink messages are generally described herein. The UE may receive, from an eNB, one or more downlink control messages that may indicate an allocation of PUCCH channel resources. The UE may transmit an uplink control message in at least a portion of the allocated PUCCH channel resources. When the PUCCH channel resources are allocated according to an edge configuration, the PUCCH channel resources may be restricted to a lower edge portion and an upper edge portion of the network channel resources. When the PUCCH channel resources are allocated according to a distributed configuration, the PUCCH channel resources may include one or more middle portions of the network channel resources. The middle portions may be exclusive to the lower edge and upper edge portions.

    Abstract: Apparatus that sends uplink control information (UCI) from user equipment (UE) to a network node, generates elements of the UCI including at least one of hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) feedback for one or more uplink (UL) resources, a scheduling request (SR), a channel state information (CSI) report and a beam related information report in response to a trigger set by the network node. The apparatus encodes the UCI elements for transmission via a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) of the one or more UL resources. The one or more UL resources may be UL slots or UL portions of downlink-uplink (DL-UL) slots received from a network node.
