Abstract: This application provides a communication method and a communication apparatus. The method includes: A first device determines first indication information, where the first indication information indicates at least one second device to access the first device when access needs to be performed; and the first device sends the first indication information. In this way, a reader/writer may provide an access opportunity for a tag device that needs to perform access, to improve system efficiency and reduce a missed reading rate.

Abstract: This disclosure provides a communication method and a communication apparatus. In some aspects, a network device receives first indication information from a core network device, where the first indication information indicates the network device to trigger, after receiving uplink data from a first terminal device, a second terminal device to access the network device. After the network device receives first uplink data from the first terminal device, the network device triggers the second terminal device to access the network device. According to the method, complexity of data transmission and processing procedures of an inventory taking procedure transplanted to a cellular network can be reduced, so that an inventory taking rate of terminal devices and a communication capacity of a system are effectively improved.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a data processing method and a related device, to effectively ensure that a terminal in the Narrowband Internet of Things can completely receive, after accessing a target base station, downlink data that is not completely received before handover or reselection, in other words, to effectively ensure that the downlink data of the terminal is not lost, thereby ensuring mobility of the terminal in connected mode. Technical solutions provided in the embodiments of this application are as follows: A core network device obtains a first indication message, where the first indication message is used to indicate that a terminal completes a cell change or a cell reselection. The core network device sends downlink data to a target base station, where the target base station is a base station to which the terminal is connected after completing the cell change or the cell reselection.

Abstract: A communication method and a communication apparatus. The method includes: sending first indication information to a terminal device, where the first indication information indicates one or more wake-up resources; receiving second indication information from a core network device, where the second indication information indicates to wake up the terminal device; determining a first wake-up resource based on the one or more wake-up resources; and sending wake-up information to the terminal device on the first wake-up resource, where the wake-up information is used to wake up the terminal device to receive a paging message or is used to wake up the terminal device to initiate random access. This can ensure that the terminal device can always monitor the wake-up information when there is wake-up signal coverage, and a problem of high-power consumption of the terminal device in a paging process is further resolved.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses example communications methods and apparatuses. One example method includes obtaining effective carrier indication information from a network device. An effective carrier frequency is obtained based on the effective carrier indication information, where the effective carrier indication information includes first information, second information, and third information. The first information includes first indication information, second indication information, or third indication information. The first indication information is used to indicate that carriers are not paired, the second indication information is used to indicate that carriers are paired, the third indication information is used to indicate a paired carrier frequency spacing, the second information is used to indicate a start carrier frequency, and the third information is used to indicate a frequency domain location of an effective carrier relative to a start carrier.
